Morning all. Can anyone clarify if the WBA TV match stream allows casting? COYB

This would be good to know actually as I’m considering get the Match Pass. Sky usually block casting, no idea about these.

Big day! Will Patel be in attendance?

I feel quite confident of a win but there’s that nervous background noise in my mind that West Brom have created over the years!

Hope for a simple win where we can get a couple of goals clear.

There may be nothing in this at all but both players on trial last night are centre backs. Well apparently the Wolves guy can play CB and RB. But with Bartley and Kipre out of contract I just found it interesting.

I can see us losing Kipre and saying bye bye to Bartley to go with Ajayi and Taylor. Hope we keep Kipre as I don’t trust Ajayi and I don’t think CC does either.

I agree that I was a bit disappointed when I saw that Griffiths was in goal for the Black Country Derby, but I'm sure that Griffiths as the 2nd choice keeper was promised the cup matches before the season started.  If you look at the stats; Meslier at Leeds has kept 18 clean sheets and has a 68.4 save percentage, and Palmer has 17 clean sheets with a 70.1 save percentage, so that's exactly why I and most Albion fans are more than happy with Palmer in goal.  I have watched every Albion match this season and there's nothing to me that suggests that Griffiths should be ahead of Palmer, and it seems Mr Corberan also agrees.

Couldn’t have put it better myself. Far more pressing concerns than the GK department. I think the biggest question is what we do with Griffiths? Send him out on loan in the Championship? That way it goes any of these ways; he proves he’s good enough for us/he adds value back onto himself for us to sell/we learn he isn’t good enough.

Either way, if we keep Palmer and there are no decent permanent offers for Griffiths - send him on loan in the Champo if there’s a taker. Recall option in Jan and backfill with experience for August - December.

Voting just once gave a clear view on what the majority thought were the main areas of concern now allowing multiple votes the poll can be manipulated  by individuals who have a dislike of a certain player which renders the poll worthless.
That's my opinion anyway time will tell if I'm right as at the moment we have two players with 75% of the vote in Townsend and Asante.
All of the above applies if you can vote more than once for any player if it means you can vote for several but not more than once each then the above does not apply and can be ignored  ;D

You can still only vote once. Just multiple players. If it was just one vote it might as well just be “who is the worst player.”

Anyway, I voted Townsend and Ajayi. Both are positional nightmares prone to a number of errors that literally cost us points more times than not when selected.

Everyone else forms a core of a decent team and squad but needs building on. As someone else said - at the right price all offers would be considered.

Yeah, goodbye to all of them please. Make it a 7 seater and ensure Weiman and M’Vila are in it too.

I hope we start something like this:

Palmer, Furlong, Kipre, Bartley, Townsend (urgh), Mowatt, Yokuslu, Fellows, Diangana, Johnstone, BTA (if Maja is ready then him).

I feel we will see us start with Wallace though. I mainly hope we see that midfield though.

There’s also of course Swift who could easily start and have one of his brilliant games. I only saw a bit of the Sheff W game - as in about 20 mins a bit before and after they went 1-0 up but Diangana was looking good in that time.

some people really do have it in for certain players! Townsend does make positional mistakes but then is very good getting forward. You now want Reach in that position who has been lambasted ever since he came to the club!

I’m in the camp of Townsend out and pretty much have been since he kept Gibbs out the side on occasion. Positionally he is horrendous and going forward his errors far outweigh his positive so I disagree massively. So many over hit and under hit crosses and he gives the ball away when we attack which puts us on the back foot often.

He had a purple patch - It was a long time ago.

If he’s picked I’ll be right behind him in support and I don’t question his effort and work rate but where Furlong has improved this season, Townsend has stagnated and is past his peak.

I’m 100% sure he’ll start  :D

Very entertaining game last night between Middlesbrough and Leeds. Finished 3-4 with some cracking moments. Thought Gnonto's breakaway goal which stood was offside even before the replay which confirmed it.

Also thought that Bamford was a very lucky lad to only get a yellow for a slack challenge on Azaz which could easily have attracted a straight red. Azaz looked good for Boro last night as did Latte Lath.

My decision to watch Married at First Sight Aus looked increasingly poorer every time I checked the score but after a weekend of lots of football on the “big tele” I had to give the other half a TV win to stay in the good books.

That’s Boro out the play-off race so it’s looking like a winner in the Hull Coventry match would then be the only side that can catch us with us just needing one more win if it’s Cov that come out on top.

Not sure what our situation is with money, we’ll have a lot of players leaving that are out of contract so I’d love to see us making Johnston a priority as I think we’ll be seeing Phillips out the door.

Well, Forest’s statement against the PGMOL will ruffle many feathers. Some bizarre decisions though. I thought the first penalty claim could go either way as the attacker made a meal of it but Young did kick his ankle and not the ball. The second two penalties looked like clear to me.

Yep. Very much doubt any of their squad has the mental and physical fortitude to complete the London Marathon with a full life sized JCB digger on their backs (either). Bunch of softies  ;D  ;) .

There’s a difference between resilience and insanity 🤣.

The John Smith's Stadium won't be a place for the faint hearted on Saturday that's for sure.

Yep, that is going to be a desperate game.

Just looking at the Coventry Hull game. I think a draw would be best. Doesn’t really do any team any favour. I win for either side could leave us on a similar position of them closing the gap potentially, going into the final game. Whatever these sides do, if we beat Weds then it seems done.

That was VERY cruel I hate these decisions that involve mm’s and even with the lines aren’t clear in the slightest.

That I would like to see. There was a bloke running with a Fridge on his back. If he didn't have any Beers in there I would be extremely disappointed.

I was going to mention the washing machine guy to Smeth Dan!

You won’t see me doing anything of the sorts! I’ll be racing for my club hoping to do it in a good time, I have enough of getting stuck behind tractors in Cornwall, last thing I wanna do is be that guy on the course  :D

London Marathon - every year it inspires me and I do a number of races ranging from 10k-Half Marathons regulars but this year I’ve taken the plunge and entered the ballot for 2025!

Brilliant performance. In terms of the result, one of those days. I knew it would get a bit twitchy before we got over the play-off line.

I'm fairly sure strikers have a better shot accuracy then wingers as a general rule. Of course , we will never know as they weren't selected.

Ask Mikey Johnstone  ;D (I know your probs talking about Wallace)

We’ve come up against phenomenal last ditch defending, bad luck and clinical finishing. I think sometimes it’s just one of those days.

No strikers, no goals not rocket science

Mate - come on now. This is one of those games, we would generally have put these chances away. Well, at least two. We usually perform above xg. This cannot be pinned on team selection choices.

Townsend was so poor defensively then.

Maybe Bring Maja on surely worth a punt. We really should be winning. Individual mistakes and wasted chances costing us, I feel it coming. Corner

It could change the shape and chemistry though and the chances May dry up. Hard to know what to do.
