Sound like interesting appointments - good to see a couple more fresh faces come in to shake up the coaching side.

I like the sound of DANILO BUTOROVIĆ - multi lingual and  "expertise in technology and analysis will see him focusing particularly on pre-match preparation, recruitment and training preparations and assessment."

Sounds like Moneyball...

I think we should be looking at the likes of Jamal Lowe, Ivan Toney, Tyler Walker from Forest who scored 22 for Mansfield last year.

3
Mister AT, out of those players you listed, how many are available and what would the transfer fee and wages be?

I think the point is - they had to be discovered by the clubs that bought them and that's what we need to do. For Example; Pukki. If we were linked with him people would look at his record. 7 in 26 in the SPL? 8 in 37 for Schalke? Sure he did well in the Danish league, but that's the Danish League. But at Norwich it clicked. I think they signed him for 2 million euros.

We were linked with Grabban in the past and most fans turned their noses up but look how many goals he scored. McGoldrick at Sheff Utd, linked with him and we turned our noses up and he bosses us at The Hawthorns and had a great season.

Loans - Tammy Abraham, Dwight Gayle. Let's find another loan?!

Then there are the players that are unattractive and boring but get goals at this level.

Dwight Gayle is amazing at this level and i'd love to see him in a Baggies shirt BUT i completely understand why it wouldn't happen.

4
I'd love Gayle but i do think people are underestimating the rebuild. 6 loan players gone, 5 released and in all likelihood we'll lose another 5 or 6. Admittedly some of the loans and released won't be missed (Hoolahan, Mears, Montero who played next to no part in our season) but Bilic needs to bring in 6 or 7 first teamers that will challenge the first team.

If we spend X million on Gayle's wages and a chunk of Rondon's fee is gone it gives Bilic and Dowling way less wiggle room on other deals and pushes down the quality in other positions.

I'd love Gayle but it will make all other business more difficult.

Stoke have agreed a deal for Barnsley's Lindsay. Know nothing about him but people seemed to think he'd be decent. They're dealing early again, didn't work last year for them but i fancy them to make a charge this season.

Could the Gayle / Rondon deal still be on the table  !!!

https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/dwight-gayle-wba-newcastle-united-16436628

I think it would be a real signal of intent but also could be one that plays out through the window but it would lift the place.

I can still see it being loan with view to permanent with a price knocked down for Rondon.

I think it’s great he’s doing that. Harper isn’t perfect but he’s still very young and central midfield as it stands is our weakest position by far.

That's a big ol' contract!

All this talk of Slaven, I was half expecting Jenkins and Dowling to pull a fast one and announce “Slaven has always been our number one target, and he fits all the criteria we had for the role ........... and we have admired Bernie since his days at Middlesbrough!” ;)

Very funny!

Looking forward to his first interview!

Chuffed!

Some character to the club, finally!

Stumbling block could potentially be Shan? Didn't the club say he would be kept on and probably pushing to have him as part of the new set up, Bilic might want a fresh start with all new staff and no ties to the club.

And rightly so in my opinion, we've been failing as a club for a while now!

The one bit of news which made me cautious yesterday was the whole 'the contract has been sent to the solicitors' thing.

Found that really bizarre and from memory I cant recall any other club releasing that type of information.

Was that a little prompt to Wilder - "last chance." Not really keen on that game!

Well he's not a yes man, that's for sure and i think that's why Adkins didn't appeal.

I'm behind this 100% and it brings some character to the club. We've been a little beige for a while!

After reading that article from express and star the more I’m thinking we’ll wait for the Wilder situation to be sorted, then try and appoint him and have Appleton as back up  ???

Despite the E&S article stating we won’t be waiting?! Wilson even reiterated it in a tweet. To me it made it sound like we are letting that ship sail and we should because that is based on ifs, buts and maybes surrounding Sheff Utd

A bit of advice which may be related to the cookies. When i use the Sky Scanner app it finds me flights for half the price to when i use Sky Scanner on my laptop. No idea why. And when i go on Ryan Air directly it's even more 'spensive.

I know football isn’t “normal” but to be interviewed and wait a couple of weeks is completely normal so if people really want to manage us (and they’ve interviewed that tell me they do!) then surely they wouldn’t mind being patient?!

Hopefully we’ll get a Sunday exclusive update today or something.

The latest article from Matt Wilson is worrying. Still have terms and incentives for promotion to agree. So pay basically.

The Perce has spoken! Whoever said Bilic was at the training ground yesterday was correct.

£155 and flights only on Wednesday out and Sunday back if you're in Cornwall  :'( . The WBA website says they will be putting packages together.

I might be on my own but I would rather we appoint the correct manager and not the quick one that appeases people.

Definitely not on your own, however i think there's a big difference here between a quick appointment and one where we appear to be taking too long.

Valencia airport is roughly 200km nearer. Villarreal is about 60 km further north. A couple of nights in Valencia would be better than Alicante as well.  8)

The game is being played in Benidorm!
