Obviously, he has to he fit to sign his latest 3 year contract.

It has to be on heavily reduced terms if he is offered one, for me its a case of thanks for your service and move on but I wouldn't be surprised to see him offered 12 months with the option of another 12 months.

Thanks Matt, you can stay on for 12 months on a pay to play basis on 50% of current cash, would be the correct way to go

Big let down since his return, hopefully we don't extend.

The fact he gets any game time over Fellows is unfathomable

Was very poor today.  Kept rushing forward and leaving no clear pass into him.  We looked a lot better when Fellows came on.

Not fit and not dangerous. Shouldn't be in the team other than to come off the bench and protect a lead.

Corberan playing him and M'Villa today just seemed daft.

That has nothing to do with him being selected.

Bad decision to start him today. Was so uninvolved in the game, he should have been taken off before half-time.
Sending him out for the second half .....unbelievable.
Down to CC.

No idea but it’s very strange to say it’s due to his age. I wouldn’t have picked him I might add.

I racked my head trying to work out why he selected MP as he hasn't done that much since his return from injury which has disappointed me. I was hoping there was some news of Fellows that I had missed which would explain it

Typically with us Phillps does really well at the start of the season and then gets injured. After his return from injury his form is VASTLY worse than pre-injury and he looks a shell of his former self. It may be to do with his age/body but usually it seems to always happen so it's not surprising to see it again.

It wad reported pre-match that Fellows had a small issue with his groin during the week, could be why.

Thanks, rings a bell actually. Still we had plenty of wide players available outside of fellows and 2 attackers on bench.

If he offered to play for free next season I’d still release him. Time to move on and ditch the old guard.

Phillips needs to go, We see him as a tailsman but he gets injured at least one a season and we has supporters think we would be better then his abilities suggest. He's been a decent servant and we need to look elsewhere.

Yes, it's time to start getting the older high earning out of contract players out of the club.
We seem to have a loyalty to long serving players that other clubs don't.  We kept both Brunt and Morrison for too long and we don't need to repeat that mistake with Matt Phillips.

I’d say that mistake has already been made with him when we renewed the last time. Other than a purple patch before his injury this season, he has certainly not been value for it.

You are entirely correct though, we retain players for far too long, presumably just to save the need to replace them. Add Livermore and the like to that list

Yeah, goodbye to all of them please. Make it a 7 seater and ensure Weiman and M’Vila are in it too.
