Fantastic from the United fans.  That is how you protest against your ownership.

In terms of rearranging the fixture the only gap that Man U have is weekend 14th May which is the weekend we play Liverpool both us and Liverpool have other potential gaps.

As for the protesting United fans against the Glazers club ownership and fans are entirely deserving of each other. Not one jot of sympathy.

Moving the game of a club who has not been involved in this mess, does nothing but suggest we are irrelevant.

Given the recent clubs are nothing without their fans attitude, hold United accountable for the actions of theirs. Make United play twice in 48 hours if you have to.

United should be punished for threatening to break away not for what their fans have done. I for one agree with the protest by the fans. And i would like to think they we could/would  do the same against our owners to get the point across.

How is that not a red card for Sheffield United player Fleck? He looks down at the Spurs player and then stamps on his head! Not even booked very lucky indeed in my opinion.

Good to see the Man U fans getting their message across about the arrogance of their owners, but United fans themselves are hardly the most humble when talking about other clubs. There's part of me that thinks, they deserve each other.

The United fans have been protesting the owners for years, the super league might have intensified it but it’s not the reason. The reason is they don’t think they spend enough money. They’ve spent around 800m net in 5 years I read.

The United fans  might not want a super league but (most) certainly don’t want a level playing field and fair game.

They have every right to protest though and given the current circumstances you’d at least think most those supporters were from the local community. However you should not now be messing with out fixtures to accommodate Them.

I am in two minds about this one to be honest. Whilst I understand their frustration with the owners and the fact that they just see the club as a cash cow, they are 2nd in the league, competitive and not afraid to spend money.

I do not advocate how the Glazers acquired the club for one second, and the club certainly needs to be punished for their recent behaviour, but the grass isn't always greener etc Difficult to see who would want to buy the club off the Glazers but I did see a sign yesterday saying 'Glazers out Gazprom in' - would that be a wise move?

Perhaps their fans should try supporting us, they will have something to moan about then.

I have zero sympathy with any of the Man United fans protesting about their ownership. The Glazers are the entirely logical conclusion of trends those self same supporters have welcomed and been cheer leaders for much in the same way as Gary "look at the greed over there" Neville has been for decades.

It is telling that fans of Man United L'pool  Spurs and Arsenal fans are protesting about their ownership. Whereas Man City and Chelsea fans protested about the Super League and have now gone very quiet since it has fallen apart. I wonder why that is?

It boils down to the 4 clubs being run on a commercial basis and therefore in some way constrained in terms of expenditure  and the other two being the sports washing operations with very little constraint on expenditure.

Not a single fan is protesting for a more level playing field. If they are so fond of the pyramid then maybe a more even distribution of funds would allow for more domestic challengers, or a world where player like Donny van de Beek stays at Ajax rather than warming United's bench and makes European competition a little bit more interesting.

Maybe they would like to share the relegation risk that is currently disproportionality borne by the promoted teams and those without backers with deep pockets. At the very least we might be spared snide remarks about the relevance of such teams.

I don't know what it is about the Super League proposals that's triggered the response maybe it was Sky Sports coming out so strongly against it (I wonder why that was) but they seem to want to have a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings but without the Turkey.

what I found interesting was that a number of fans that called into Radio 5 mentioned at that it wasn't a snap decision but that they'd been getting screwed over by the Glazers for 16 years.

Or in other words they have been so fed up with the Glazer family for the last 16 years that they have continued to attend matches, buy merchandise etc ...basically continue to put money into the Glazers pockets!

Why didn't they go and support FC United of Manchester?

Bunch of chavs pretending to understand football business and crying about how unfair it all is, whilst they have spent a stack of money in the pursuit of happiness.

I think its easy for us to sit here and condemn without being a Utd fan we don't feel the same about it all as we're just outsiders to it all.

Whilst some left to go follow FC United, plenty stayed and to be honest 99% of us would if it was the Albion. The Glazers have screwed that club for years, put nowt in, took plenty out ini dividends and whilst they have spent plenty which has been wasted by managers including Fergie that has been brought in by revenue. The money that could have been spent had it not gone out in loan repayments etc would put them on another level to where they are.

The problem with these owners is they do not understand English football, they want a closed shop and don't care who attends games as if the locals get priced out or walk away they will just fly planeloads of tourists in from Asia, the US etc and make money on the packages as well as the ticket and souvenirs so win win.

The thing is they haven't been screwed over.  The club was never owned by them they wanted the advantages that the sheer size and how heavily commercialised the club was even before the Glazers rocked up. The clue is that there was sufficient income for the Glazers to leverage the initial purchase without sending them spiralling down the league(s) .

They haven't finished below 7th in the league won a bunch of trophies and for the most part they have had one of the top two wage bills and most summers have spent more on one player than many clubs are able to spend on their squads.

The Glazers tax is part of the dynamics that make the Premier League a little bit more competitive than most other leagues in Europe but in truth they have driven the commercial revenues which not only helped pay the tax but has recalibrated the value of all of English football's commercial deals particularly those of the big 6.

Having created the monster of the big 6 and their counterparts elsewhere in Europe the next logical step is a European Super League closed or otherwise but it is far too late for the Big 6 fans to get precious about the pyramid.

Ticket prices rises which they promised would not happen? The average fan has been screwed over by them with rising prices they claim were needed to clear they debt they put on the club, its okay saying they have massive wage bills etc which yes they do and yes they increased the revenue but sometimes it about more than that.

But it’s a business ....and even though there is a lot of emotion, non of those fans complaining have the financial muscle to buy the club (or if they did they have chosen not too) .
I think fans talk about “our club” but it’s not....we can get as emotionally invested as we want but if they want to put the prices up that is there prerogative, if they wish to sell a commodity (player) and take the profit , it really is their choice.
It’s never going to go back....and I’m not sure it was that different before , just the scale of money was much smaller.

That's staggering if true that Man U fans have been moaning for not spending enough money.
They even spent £35 million on Donny van der Beek, one of the most creative midfielders in Europe, and he's has had to sit it out on the bench for the season. And the club have the cheek to tell him to be patient because he's not leaving.

Its the attitude of Man U fans that's a main part of the problem in the modern game. They are like spoilt kids that want presents galore at Xmas without unwrapping the ones they received.

A group of fans did try to buy the club but the Glazers put an unrealistic valuation on the club.

Yes they can put prices up but it has to be done at realistic levels not like I think 30% it was when they took over despite promising not to be putting them up.

It was massively different before and the money now involved has good and bad parts to it, normal folk like me and you are not really wanted by the top level clubs anymore, they want the money from tv rights overseas. They couldn't give a toss whether we go or not as gate receipts mean nothing these days and the majority of us won't bother with the club shop on a match day whereas the tourists will pack it out week in week out.

When ‘United fans’ tried to buy it the glaziers valued the club at 1.6bn and the ‘fans’ had £1bn. I put fans in inverted commas because how they had £1bn who knows. I’d suggest it was just a more fan friendly investor

Conservative estimates suggest it’s now worth 3bn, so they were offered a bargain really.

while I agree, I must point out that Pandora was the possessor of the box and the one who opened it, she was not the one IN the box.

Pedantic, true, but it’s bothered me all morning! ;D
