I fear that this is a huge blow to CC’s team. Whilst Button isn’t a terrible keeper and he’s a decent shot stopper he can’t distribute the ball. It’s a hot potato at his feet and he causes panic in defence as a result. He just doesn’t fit the way that CC plays.

He’s is a terrible keeper and he’s a poor shot stopper, most things go through him!

Button in goal, nope, we’ve lost

I know we conceded 2 poor goals yesterday but the thing I have noticed more than anything is how hard we are to break down.

We essentially play with 2 defensive wingers in MP and Wallace who also carry a lot of threat going forward from crossing whenever they get chance. With them tracking back it gives our Full Backs (weakest area) more protection which then forces teams to go through the middle where we normally have 3 and the best defensive midfielder in the league.

The one area where we are weakest in my opinion is long balls over the top. I think Coventry did this quite well against us and especially if a team has a mobile centre forward who can run channels and stretch defence. I do think Ajayi is the answer to this problem with his pace and also his height this would stop us being more prone.

Overall though CC has just made us a team that you don’t want to play against much like his Huddersfield one. Solid everywhere, hard to beat with enough quality in forward areas to win games 1/2-0.

Burnley are not sub par  ;D

Back to MP. He’s found his role under CC perfectly. I remember him being on the team and thinking oh no another manager picking him but he has fully found a use for him. He’s a defensive winger with added physicality to deal with crosses and help out Townsend.

Wolves have spent £50 mil on Cunha, £10 mil onn Lemina, £17 mil on Joao Gomes in just this window if not more on others. Yet we have an owner who has to lend £20 million to keep us afloat. Truly depressing

I think we should take this seriously. I would rather us lose against Luton and Burnley and win our replay and the 4th round tie. Being in the hat for the 5th round means more money and also as others have bussed there's quite a few Prem teams out already.

A win here would have been papering over the cracks, with this let off it might be the best thing to happen whilst the transfer window is open.

Getting players out a lot more important than getting players in.

Really is sad to see how far Diangana has fallen behind as a footballer. He needs to leave the club in the summer if we can get 2/3 million for him

It is a bit gutting to keep seeing the top 2 keep winning but they’re there for a reason although I definitely think right here right now we are at least on par with them. Will be interesting game when we play Burnley as I expect us to go into that full on confidence

He’s technically poor, but he makes up for that in his determination and tenacity. I suppose in a midfield 3 of Yokuslu and Swift/Rogic it works as the other 2 are better on the ball.

Great assist today though and was definitely MOTM.

Diangana pretty much sums up what he’s about there. Clear chance to shoot and decides to dribble back where defenders are  :-X

Agree on the Dike front. Not doing enough would be the phrase for me.

Knew from the start he wouldn’t fancy him and that to me shows how good CC is. Generally has no impressive attributes to play ST, LM or LW so I don’t know how he gets back in the squad let alone team.

Best thing is we cut our losses or at least loan him out. We can hope 🤞🏻

Really happy with how he had performed since he has come into the team, I never want to see Flappy Hands Button in goal for us ever again - there's a reason he was number 2 for pretty much his whole career.

I think the number 1 spot is now firmly Palmer's BUT I expect Griffiths either next season or the season after that to seriously be challenging for that spot.

Either way there's not much wrong he's doing at the moment so long may it continue.

Really disappointed with Dike this game. Offered literally nothing. Hopefully we can scrape through this game…

When you consider Grant cost £16 million and BTA cost £300k, doesn't make any sense.

It does. We were shafted on the Grant deal and had a bargain in the BTA deal. It happens although…. £16 million  :-[
