Bruntys 2nd pen
« Reply #800 on: April 04, 2011, 07:02:42 PM »
Every time i see it ,it looks better and better  dont think i woill ever get fed up of seeing it ;D
Taking all the factors into account ,ie the actual shot, the timing, the opposition, the importance, the pressure, and the quality of the keeper ,would it be unthinkable for it to be our goal of the season ,it gets my vote anyway

In terms of mental fortitude and at that stage of the game, it was a big occasion, Top marks to Brunty, any slower pace and Reina might have got it.

Reminds me of Balis.
Not as big a scenario mind, but the way it had to be extra special or otherwise would have been saved was brilliant.

My precise words were "Where's Igor Balis when you need him?" - In fairness to Brunt, they were dispatched brilliantly for a player who doesn't have the greatest penalty conversation rate.

Hughsie would have been proud of the first one.....hammered straight down the middle

Tony Brown would have been proud of the second one.....smashed into the corner. Reiner went the right way but it was in the net before he got there.

Was nearly in tears at the end, waited soooooo long to beat them w*****s................now for the Villa !

Dirk Kuyt thinks they were pens:

'I thought the referee was right with the two penalty decisions'

He's trying to buy Carrol referee favours though:

'Dirk Kuyt calls for referees to give Andy Carroll more protection'  ;D

Francis was a great player, but he was always one of those players that as soon as he got in the box and a defender looked at him he was down.
He went down that many times he retired with a cauliflower backside.

Having stayed up to watch my beloved team and the midnight celebrations that got me out of bed (where I was watching the game) to have a few celebration beers. I followed some of the links to the pool sites where the bias was well! beyond me, against the penalties and ref. I downloaded the highlights and slow motioned the 2 said penalties.

Beyond any shadow of a doubt, these were penalties and if the reverse was considered and the penalties were not given to liverpool then imagine the fraca that would ensue about how they were denied two blatant penalties.

Come on Beckham got sent off for less then Reina in a worldcup..

Afternoon lads and ladies.

As you might guess by my Username I'm an LFC fan. I don't usually troll other teams forums but popped in here today to see how you baggies where enjoying battering us and happened upon Dave's-from-the-pubs ramblings.

I also noticed that a few have commented about LFC forums and how LFC fans are blaming everyone for our shambolic show yesterday. I'm not sure which forums you read that on but the forum I'm a regular in is a bit more level headed and the consensus is we got beaten by the better team on the day no doubt and as a genuine forum we'd rather wrangle about why than blame the ref (unless it's Howard Webb) and pick up on individual players failings or tactics that were poo.

The be all and end all of yesterdays match is we played with zero width which is becoming a bit of a norm unfortunately. We played well for the first 10 minutes and well for 5 out of the last 10 minutes, the rest of the minutes were poo. Carroll and Suarez haven't gelled yet but given time we're hopeful they'll become potent. Kyriakos had a nightmare and cost us dearly.

On the flip side of the coin you played quality attacking football (something we never seen under Roy), Odemwingie was a nightmare and probably your MOTM. In short your lads played twice as well as we did and thoroughly deserved the win.

As regards Dave, don't let a troll come in and start spouting bitter pooe and judge every LFC fan on him. The vast majority of proper LFC fans would rather pick the bones of what's wrong with LFC at the moment, which players need to go, who we need to get in etc than point the finger at the winning team.

The fact that an idiot feels the need to register, wait for approval and then start coming out with poo should sort of point you in the direction that he has special needs and has to shop here: http://cuddlz.com/

Dave,

Well what can we say as baggie fans! It's refreashing to have a candid view on what was a poor performance by Liverpool but in the same essence a good one by the Baggies.

If you read most of the posts pre match (on here) we were hoping of all hopes to get a point but thankfully for us we got all 3.

As you can imagine it has been hard for us as fans for many years and we should be allowed to enjoy a victory when it was deserved.  Liverpool are a fantastic team and the fans have the same passion that I would expect from our fans but at the same time history is exactley what it is, HISTORY.  It is how we play today and tomorrow that counts.

Liverpool will go on to at least be in europe and will overcome the problems they have had not just this season but for many.

With the money and the fan base things will change for you ! But The Baggies and the faithfull fans will always battle on and try and make good with what weve got.

That is todays football.

Thank you for your obvious positive views on football as a whole.

SUPERB is all i can really!!

Me and my brother love a good atmospehere, and we are alway involved in the singing and clapping (despite being lower Brummie) ... yet we have never looked at each other and again 'Jesus, Listen to that!'....the Proud to be a Baggie clap was awesome! And i believe it should now stay as one of leading songs! Every fan in the entire ground was clapping, and it sounded brilliant!

Also, im loving the fact that the Boing is now louder, longer and overall better!

Lets keep up the great atmospheres, lets roar the lads onto survival...and then next year, we do the same! Lets make the Hawthorns what it used to be...
