Can’t stand allardyce ....but I know that with “his players” and a week of intensive formation coaching,we will be watching a different team 2-2.
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

Man U involved in Extra Time in the FA Cup and they have some of their big guns playing.
Great news, now they may only be 50% fitter than us.

Can't see anything other than a walloping. They'll get at least one penalty for sure, taken as many times as necessary to ensure they score and settle their nerves.

Peltier no way. Have you seen his defending for Spurs first goal? He was ten yards out of position screening Ajayi from the invisible man.

Why the hell he was picked in the first place is beyond me. How old is he, 34? He wasnt PL class during his peak years, how is he going to be now?

Allardyce's team selection at Spurs was ridiculous. He needs to sort his head out.

Peltier was not at fault - the blame lay with Ajayi who tried to reorganise to his natural position during the middle of a Spurs attack rather than waiting until the move had fizzled out - honourable mention to Sawyers who missed Kane playing off his shoulder.

If you watch the goal again - the ball goes wide to Davies who is being marked by Peltier. Son makes a run down the channel which is covered by Ajayi. Absolutely no issue here.

Davies cuts inside as a result of Peltier's pressure and plays a pass to Hoijberg.

Davies then runs into the space vacated by Ajayi and Peltier quite rightly tracks his run and in effect becomes the centre half.

Ajayi decides to come into his the centre half position and ends up standing behind Peltier. Hoijberg then plays a pass into the space which Ajayi and Sawyers should have covered.

The lack of game awareness from Ajayi is appalling - the space had been covered by Peltier - all he needed to do was remain switched on and alert to Harry Kane. We see out the move and then reorganise. Not bleedin' reorganise when they're ten yards outside our penalty area.

Lack of awareness, lack of communication, yet again. You can make the case that Ajayi should have been rollocking Sawyers to get goalside given Peltier had tracked his runner.

This forum hammers our full backs for not tracking the midfield runners and no sooner one of them does they are then blamed for being out of position.

And for the record - of the three right backs - none of them are good enough so we may aswell pluck a name from the hat..

This is exactly what happened, and what I saw too.

Peltier tracked his runner. Ajayi and Sawyers failed to cover the space which Kane then exploited fully.

Sawyers stood and watched and even gave up going with Kane. Ajayi should have covered that space too and blocked it off.

Lack of communication and awareness of what is going on around them

Peltier shouldnt have tracked the run he should have held his position and passed him on even if leaving him temporarily in space. You don't compromise your shape. You track a run when they are getting in behind not when they are going sideways outside the box. That is a lack of footballing intelligence at the highest level. That's symptomatic of a player trying too hard to compensate for his lack of confidence in his ability at that level.

As for Sawyers, well, yeah but that is Sawyers all over. He has no defensive instinct at all. Either he didnt know Kane was there, which is incredible or he's made a conscious decision to ignore him, equally incredible.

Ajayi is not without blame either not switched on and lack of communication.

I could see Matt Phillips making a starting appearance at right back at some point.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

He will probably look Ok as well until he has to

A) tackle
B) head the ball
C) defend at the far post
D) block a cross

A, B and C are of little relevance to our defensive selections to date so no change there. As for D all he needs to do is turn the other cheek and he'd block out the sun never mind a cross......

To be fair O'Shea is competent at B and C, actually very good at C. Had he been on the pitch at RB against Fulham we wouldve won that game. Okayish at A. Useless at D and cant defend one on one.

Furlong is competent enough at B. Fails everywhere else in a defensive sense.

Peltier hmmm.
