West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Sam Allardyce

Sam won't be here. I would be staggered if we agree on his demands on Wednesday.
He will be asking for phenomenal wages and bonuses, plus assurances.

We have to make it worth his while and I just cannot see it as we will be in penny pinching mode.

I kinda of agree with that, we'll know exactly how serious the board are if they pull the plug on Sam and go for a cheap option.

Nothing to learn from this year that club don’t already know.

Let’s hope the rumours of a few serious buyers can strike a deal with Lai and get that sorted ASAP otherwise it’ll be a champ campaign with minimal spending and loans again.

For the record I’d keep Sam as well, my guess he’ll want to see how serous the club are first.

Allardyce would have expected Wolves to set up with a back three so he set up to counter that. The last time we failed to do that we got over run at Leicester.

He changed it after half an hour but we never really got going in truth. We're not a good enough team to put in consistent high quality performances. We're capable of it every so often but that's as good as it's going to get with this squad.

Very much this. At this level we’re going to have 3 or 4 good games out of 10 I’m afraid. We just don’t have consistent players for prem football.

For me he’d be perfect for the champ and probably perfect for a return to the prem for a few seasons, let’s be honest here he isn’t a risk which at the present is something we don’t need to be taking.

We need to bounce right back up.

I can’t listen to Goodman even when we’re winning.

I know it was 10 men but when have we played that well before? The passing was something else.

Wonder if Sam still thinks the squad is good enough to stay up? 😂

Truly woeful second half. Seriously amateurish stuff, this team has going down to league 1 written all over it.

Without new owners I truly fear for this once great club.

Sam said a minimum of 4 points or were done. I think he’ll be gone by the Man Utd game. His choice I reckon.

The issue is if we are going to get sold there’s no point in getting rid. I’d much rather he stay, new owners come in and they start making decisions.

Frankly I don’t want any of the current clowns choosing the tea lady. Although they’ve probably fired her.

Somebody care to explain how Allardyce has improved us !? He still doesn’t know his best team or what system to set them up in

He hasn’t. He massively underestimated how poor the payers were. Add in they didn’t want Slav gone and it’s a perfect storm.

Everything is wrong at this club.

Sam underestimated how bad these players were when he came in saying he’d keep us up.

Not a chance.

Tonight was all about quality, we just don’t have enough but we can compete.

You’re looking at 4 more players to have any chance of survival really.

Looks like Sam has worked the team out tactically, as for Snodgrass, looked like a different level to everyone else.

Jesus the Wolves fans have taken this badly.

Verdict:

I’m done. I’ll comeback when the cancer at our club has been removed.

That is all

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: What went wrong?
« on: January 03, 2021, 02:21:24 PM »
What went wrong was a club and manager thinking that the team that fell over the line due to other teams failings would be able to compete in the Prem.

Nobody with any sense would have said that side would have done well in this league.

Add in a totally bizarre decision to appoint Big Sam because he’s never been relegated, I mean come on, talk about not understanding how football has changed in the last 5 years. You’d think they’d have learnt from Pulis.

Really not hard to see where it went wrong. As for solving it, well it’s fairly simple.

You need a new owner. A complete new board and a manager who is going to build for the now AND the future. I’m sick and tired of you can only have one of these. You can have both with good planning. We’ve probably got 5 or 6 players at best who are worth working with.

For it all to work it starts with a new owner. We have to hope that happens very soon otherwise I fear for the club I am drastically losing interest in.

Supporting a club is highs and lows but this is a low many just don’t need in their lives presently.

Not sure what on Earth I just watched, we’ve known for a while this squad lucked their way out of the championship but that was the worst Albion performance in my lifetime.

Lack of quality isn’t their fault but lack off basic effort and understanding of basic football is embarrassing.

Shocked and not sure I really want to bother with the club for a bit. It’s just not good for anyone.

Forget the money they earn. Getting pumped again and again takes is going to take its toll. Sport is spoken about in fine margins, you lose your confidence and your head and it’s going to look horrendous.

To be fair the signs were there last year at how much of a bunch of chockers this lot are. We didn’t deserve promotion it was gifted to us.

And this is the worst squad we have ever taken into a premier league campaign

Worse than our first promotion?

You’re probably right.

Pride and effort is always questioned when teams are lacking in quality.

They might be limited footballers, but in the main I think we have a fairly honest bunch. I think it will be hurting them and I don’t think they’ve tossed it off.

I’m sorry but they are just giving up after going behind. This could have been 8 or 9.

Remember this is an awful Arsenal side as well.

The amount of individual errors and not playing as a team is astounding.

You do get the feeling they don’t give a ****. The lack of actual effort is astounding.

An expected score line for me.

Quality, confidence and intelligence all hugely lacking. No manager could keep this team up I’m afraid.

I’m only surprised that others are surprised. The quality and fitness just isn’t there, for Sam’s tactics to work you need to be fit in body and mind. We are a million miles away from both.

You can’t say nobody didn’t see this season coming.
