What's concerning is the lack of a meaningful link in approach or play-style between any of these managers.

Wilder
Appleton
Wagner
McInnes
Neil

Each with their own ways of doing things, each with their own style (or lack thereof). It's not like we've identified how we want to play and are going after a list of candidates that fit that description, we just seem to be going for whoever is available and/or cheap.

Looks as though Lai's calling the shots & now Jenkins has gone, there's nobody strong enough as a foil.

If we genuinely are reluctant to pay less than £1million compensation, then Lai is being unrealistic. Someone has to tell him that.

Maybe he could use some of the £4m he still owes us?

Or maybe he'll ask for the £20m we owe him.

Do we know what this 20m is for?

I think this is the most damning thing.

There is no vision at the club.

That 4m that was taken by JP? That one?

The loan included in the sale of the club?

He hasn’t physically had any money

Or the donkey, trying to pin a tail on something even the donkey knows nothing about. No insult to donkeys intended, but others I really have no remorse about offering insults to

I was really Hyped for Wagner. I thought he'd do brilliantly.

I'm now gutted and will go sulk in the shadows. Good day to you all.
Whenever things look bad, remember the Port Vale, Grimsby and Walsall days... not so bad now, eh?!

Anyone seen any money for Nathan Ferguson or Gareth Barry's son? ;)
I am excited for the press conference.
"After a thorough search and leaving no stone unturned we are delighted to appoint"
Wilder...sorry wrong notes
Wagner...sorry wrong notes
Appleton...so sorry, bear with me.
Dean Smith....that was a few years ago
Mark Hughes....Always have that ready just in case.
Harry Basett...
Joe Kinnear....
Alan Buckley. He was always our first choice, he knows the club he bleeds blue and white blood and a return was always on the cards.

Have we even enquired about managers with a good track record abroad, and apparently available? Ralf Rangnick, Lucien Favre,  Edin Terzic, Dieter Hecking? All have a more than  respectable track record and certainly a better one than Wagner.

I’m no longer fussed who it is as long as it’s not one of the following:

- John Terry
- Neil Warnock
- Neil Lennon
- Steve Bull

I'll ask this one again

how does employing non british managers work post brexit? What criteria apply to qualification?

By the same token if I want advice about buying a car i would rather talk to the franchise owner than a spotty oik with greasy hair and pearly white smile masquerading as a sales exec.

As far as I know, and I'm not an expert, one of the criteria is that they have to have managed in a top division. The above all tick that box.

I obviously don't know why talks with Wagner have broken down but we are becoming a laughing stock.
We either don't have a clear plan of what we want or we are making unrealistic demands of the candidates.
The problem is that we definitely need new players and we should ideally be at the top of the queue for a player we want not picking over the scraps when all our targets have found a new club.

Find it a bit strange how Young Boys Berne suddenly swooped with a contract for Wagner.
Wonder if he was using us as a bargaining chip.
As for the Swiss league, its no better than the Scottish. Ajax comfortably disposed of Young Boys over 2 legs in the Europa League. But I see that Wagner originally comes from the south west of Germany, so it would be a shortish drive from there to Berne.
