Favourite National Team Strip
« on: October 07, 2020, 10:09:58 PM »
Since 1966, I have loathed Argentina’s National Football team, albeit they have had some great teams and players.

But, I have to admit, I love their strip, especially there shirt for some reason

I adore the Italy and French shirts from the 1982 World Cup. Both are v-neck t-shirts with collars decorated in the colours of countries flag.

I’ve owned replicas of both shirts when they were re-released during the 2002 and 2006 World Cups. Superb!

On a side note, my favourite England shirts are the Umbro 1999/2000 and also the Nike 150 years shirt released in 2013. Both have blue round necks set against the white jersey. Delightful!

Remember the time a whole bunch of Dutch models pitched up for a game in orange dresses?

Dutch shirt from 88
Croatia shirts when they keep it simple red and white blocks
Most Argentina shirts
Italy shirts in the earl 2000's
The recent Nigeria shirt from the last world cup
Most African shirts actually look great (Cameroon and Ivory Coast have had some great embossed animals in the shirts)
France shirt that had the collar, maybe 2014? Incredible shirt. Their black and white away shirt around then looked great too.
England 82 shirt
Ireland's now they have gone darker green
Denmark 86
I really like some of the Mexico shirts as well

Think it was the football being played in them that made them a bit special (for me anyway!)

oh the football was definitely special, the best team never to win a tournamant (they should have won in 74 and 78 but for various reasons didn't.)

I just liked the fact that Cruyff wore a two stiped version rather than the 3 striped regular one (something to do with him being sponsored by Puma). It makes that shirt iconic (to me).

Scotland 1976 is a classic. The Bhutan shirt is always good if you like dragons.
