Christ, we can't even appoint a painfully unpopular manager whose reputation has taken a kicking. We really are a laughing stock.

I dread to think where this leaves us.

I'd honestly prefer Alex Neil to Wagner. He has better knowledge of the championship and lower leagues regarding player recruitment and let's be honest if it's left to Dowling to build us a new midfield we are in big trouble

We hope...

I'd wager it still will not be Wilder, the Alex Neil shout seems reasonable to me and I would hate that appointment as much as the proposed Wagner one.

Am I in a parallel universe or something?

Lampard is available - WHY THE XXXX NOT? My first choice all along why are we not all over him?

May as well just wait until after the Euros and start again, see if someone decent comes into view.
If it was Dowling who leaked the details, then he should be emptying his locker as we speak, with security waiting to walk him off site.

If Wilder has any sense he will tell us where to go.

Alex Neil surely now favourite?

Obviously, we don't know the behind the scenes details but it does look silly at this moment.

I'm not a huge fan of Wagner but in fairness I think he'd be an ok appointment. I don't rate Alex Neil one bit though and really hope it's not him. That's not to say I wouldn't support him as our manager, but it's kind of like dejavu of when we got Irvine in. I'd rather have Appleton than him and I'm not a big fan of him either.

He's not been mentioned but I'd rather have McInnes than Neil. Who knows though? Just because Masi has tweeted that, it doesn't mean it's true. I've seen other journalists say it's all but done with Wagner so we shall see.

Several reasons.....

1). Will not work with Dowling after the treatment of Billic
2). He recently changed agency's who apparently have had difficult dealings with WBA in the past.

No chance.

Rob Dorsett of Sky has also said it, and it's him who's saying that Wagner's going to Young Boys so that he'll be closer to his family in Germany. Due diligence my backside.

Take your blue and white glasses off , put down your balti pie and pint of mild . If I was a decent coach on the up or looking for a challenge I'd be very unsure about working for this club right now with these owners and that D.O.F .
Sigh .

It is baffling that Wagner was progressed so far if there was concerns regarding whether his heart was in it..

Perhaps Wagner saw the meltdown on Fercebook and Twatter and thought stuff that, they're nutters.

Let's hope Alex Neil is a big social media user!

No. 1 is pure conjecture.
No.2 he was confirmed as being on our short list. All gone silent since then, it would be nice to have some transparency.

Preston were 16th in the Championship when Neil was fired last season. I'd be mortified if it ends up being him.
