I was showing support for my brother in law at North End today and there is nothing to fear from Barnsley, other than some real pace (or so it panned out today).

I will say though, I found their chant of 'we scored a goal, we scored a goal, how $#1T are you, how $#1T are you' quite disarming!!

I guess it depends how many fit players we have. It's been reported despite negative tests that a few more squad members are showing symptoms.

Albion wanted the game cancelled today I imagine we will be looking to postpone this one too- however it's on the tv isn't it? Cannot see the tv people wanting the game off
O Albion we love you

Will the guys out for Reading with covid miss this too or is there a cut-off point?

Technically it's under 7 days later so seems ominous.

We know at least two positive results were after the Friday press conference, so they have to be out I think. I guess the rest need to have been last Tuesday or earlier.

So just to check on my reckoning, anyone out for the Reading game, will also be out for the Barnsley game, with the potential for the outbreak to spread a little further?  Also does anyone understand what the criteria are for calling a game off? It always used to be that if you had 13 registered players who could get on to the pitch then you had to play.

Unless of course you play your home games in the capital, when you seem to be allowed to by pass the EFL

Unless things get ridiculous then we should play the game. People are moaning that the EFL made us play Saturday but we won so I'm glad we did play I'd rather have the points than a game in hand.

We are capable of beating Barnsley with any senior team we put out despite our historic record there.

Agreed, but we do need to be sure that we have a level playing field.  Sadly I think the next two months are going to be quite bad for Covid.

Those going will need to show a Covid Pass or a negative LFD.

Not going. Another away day lost due to an evening kick off and subsequent taxi fare home from West Brom at stupid O'clock. Cheers Sky.

Proof of Covid status when you can still transmit notwithstanding, you've made my decision easier than it once would have been. Up yours you weighed @nchors.

Yes I saw this and wondered why we'd been forced to play as well.  Is the bias that blatant?

Be interesting to see how the new legislation regarding covid passports/lateral flow test pans out when trying to access the ground.

Not sure it’s bias - what is there to be biased about?

They have 16 players in isolation with Covid.

They have a squad of 25 containing three goalkeepers.

We had four players missing with COVID..

Can we keep this topic relevant to the Barnsley game please.

There is a Championship thread to discuss QPR etc.

Get the game played unless we can't field an XI.

The only nagging doubt I have about this is the fact we never win at Oakwell and Barnsley must be due a win. By all accounts they are dreadful and we travel up there with the best manager they had in a generation and their best player from the past three seasons with us. If we can't win there on Friday, we never will.

As Atomic says, get it played, get the points on the board and get some of the Covid lads back for the games over Christmas.

I hope so, we have a bit of momentum at the moment so that should keep  morale high and some of my the non-regulars like Reach can take their chance, let's catch Bournemouth by new year!

All 4 defenders out again as Albion travel to Barnsley on the Thursday. 2 would be allowed to play on the Friday but no training would leave them short so just going to struggle on and have them all back for xmas according to E+S

The team that played against Reading should have more than enough for Barnsley, however the fact that Ismael is returning may give their players some extra impetus to get one over on him.
