“For me this is a stepping stone, really”….

Yeah mate, I can see exactly why Arsenal and Chelsea passed up on the opportunity to sign you. Couldn’t get your inflated head through the training centre doors I’ll bet!!

God willing you don’t turn out to be another Diaby, Yuning, Blanco et al.

He did well. Far from the worlds best currently of course but if he keeps playing and improving he's still young enough to get a good living from the game.

We looked more dangerous with him on though, he replaced a seasoned professional against non league opposition that did not change.

"It took a long time but I always knew I was going to get there at some point." Castro said, speaking to Suffolk News.

sounds a bit too Berahinoesque for my liking, but if he can do it on the pitch and not screw up like Saido, all good.

God forbid a lad should come in with confidence, drive and a will to succeed.
If he is even half as as good as he is in his head, then we'll do well.

If he isn't.....well we won't have lost much will we?

Nice to see footballers with a bit of personality.

Me too Chipper, I had the same feeling watching aginst Woking, as I did when I saw Harvey Barnes play his first pre-season game against Coventry.
He's a bloody gud un!

I am not sure what sort of impact he will have but he at this point he is in the first team squad and I am entirely happy about that.

I've seen nothing of him as yet but am excited following the couple of posts above. Who cares if he is ambitious and wants to use us as a stepping stone? Ultimately, if he gives us a couple of seasons of brilliance that see us back in the Premier League and established at that level once more then moves on making us big money as a result, it's a win for all parties. Look at Pereira now, signed for a relatively low fee, he was probably the main reason for our promotion with his goals and assists and excelled in the Premier League, with our awful recruitment being to blame for the fact that we were relegated despite his brilliance but, subject to our board undervaluing him, he should make us a serious return financially on the investment.

Looking forward to seeing the lad play.

His agent looks interesting, EYECONIC SPORTS MANAGEMENT LTD, all players in the 18-22 years old bracket, most with decent clubs, also Owen Windsors agent, based on Hagley road,

also represent Kevin Joshua who we picked up last year as well as former academy player Aksum White.

Thanks, I didnt recognise those names, interesting they (agency) have people covering Belgium and France, cannot see how young lads on the continent get moves to England now? Must just be expanding their operations ???

from their website, they have dedicated heads of recruitment for France and Belgium, even have their own academy in Paris.

Also found out the owner was an estate agent and a scaffolder before founding the business.

estate agent = schister,
Scaffolder = Lee Hughes

Don't really like lads coming out with over confident jibs, but I agree he does look ok.
don't mind making a few quid on him next year after we get promoted.
I would play the Berahino interview to him for a start.

Haha, I agree with that. I think estate agents actually have a lot in common with football agents...never really thought of it that way before.
I think Castro looks good based on what I've heard in pre-season. Could be a decent signing but it's way too early to say as of now.

Speaking of whom - I just read the Ginger One is trying to organise a testimonial between old Notts County players and old Albion players.

High praise going around about this lad. Apparently he was bought in with a view to play in the U23's but VI is confident he will be good enough for the first team.
If he's as good as he thinks he is it might soften the blow of losing Pereira.
Fingers crossed eh?  ;)
