Keith Downing would be a better choice than what's being mentioned
I can get over the wolves connection if he had Paul Cooke has his assistant.
Jesus dingle dowling desperate times.. Some fans will literally accept any old rubbish

I see a lot about “fan expectation” in regards to the next manager but does anyone have much in the form of expectation for us? The chances are, we’ll lose 2-3 key players, the rest of the squad isn’t exactly saying much, the recruitment will be based upon what money we can bring in and any free transfers and we’re somewhere towards the bottom of the list of managers we actually want.

Right now, I’d probably take 10th-12th.

They could very well be but fact of the matter is none of us know what's going on?! We don't know what names are on the list. Billic came out of nowhere last year and wagner did this time round but it's a fact Billic has been and gone and unless they have somehow convinced him to leave the payday in China I don't see how he is relevant.

That's odd because several forum members on here categorically claim to know without any doubt whatsoever that the working relationship between Bilic and the board was broken past all redemption. Therefore he couldn't possibly have stayed, despite stating in his last press conference that he loved his job. That appears to be their safety blanket to hold onto, to avoid facing up to the mess we have got ourselves in by choosing to play manager merry-go-round bingo. It wouldn't surprise me if a Neil Warnock gets the job the way things are going.

I just really hope there is a way of Lai realising what an almighty shambles this has become and bites the bullet to allow the board to get the man they see fit - Wilder.

Man, if you would have told me last week we were having Wilder I would have been gutted.

But now... although it would take Lai to make a 180 turn (can't see it really happening) , I would be relieved

Promoted with Norwich
Achieved same as Wagner, Wilder and Bilic
Understand why he would be considered

It's about context though. No one's saying Wagner is a great manager, but he got Huddersfield from a struggling Championship to the Premier League and did well on a budget. Neil was expected to get promoted with Norwich due to their infrastructure.

He's also clearly very limited. He's a bit like Paul Lambert, or Aidy Bothroyd if you will who have also got teams up in the past (one each). It still doesn't mean they're good. I'd literally rather have any manager (other than Irvine) than Neil going  back to Gary Megson. Even Tony Mowbray would walk all over him.

I think I’d actually take Mark Hughes at the moment.

And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is how bad this situation has become.

A perpetual League One failure.

I happen to think, unlike our owner, that we are somewhat better than that.

Won the title at all league clubs he's managed, was doing excellent at Wigan before the fiasco.

Megson had won nothing before he came to Albion.

Beat Man United 4-0 and had 18 shots on goal against a pep guardiola's man city team... yeah he's shocking! :D

Megson was and is a legend and always will be.

Megson came to an extremely poor Albion side and not one newly relegated with ambitions for an immediate return. We need a manager to fit this role- some of the rubbish mentioned on here has been laughable. Unlike our owners and board I happen to think that we are huge in this division and are worthy of a manager to lead us forward.

But not for me.

I think we're underselling ourselves, Keith. Despite this awful ownership and board we're a great club and certainly a huge one in this division. We deserve better than the likes of Robinson, Neil etc. We may not get that manager, I understand.

We'll see. Nothing would surprise me.

Surely, this is a wind up?

I'd rather have Jim Robinson from Neighbours.

What am on about, I would rather have bouncer instead Karl Robinson.

I suspect the fact you swallowed that line is more a reflection on you than other posters mate. Never mind a safety blanket it's your bible...

I was talking about names on the list not what was going on behind the scenes with SB and the board. If you carried on reading the rest of the post that would of gave it away. Nobody knows for definite what is going on right now the situation seems to be changing that much and that fast even local journalists are just about keeping up and that's only when the club decide to drip feed them things. I suspect the news of Lai over throwing Dowlings selection came out because either Dowling broke it to somebody such as Masi or he got one of his little mates in the media to do it. Final thing I'm going to say on Billic. I'm tired of his name popping up for whatever reason we were right to sack him we were to late in doing so there's no room for niceties in this game and we were to nice to him.

I'd still take a dead bouncer over Karl Robinson.
