Used to play alongside livermore and Grosiki at Hull

True, thought he was at WHU when Sam was but they just missed each other.

Snodgrass? The term ‘scraping at the bottom of the barrel’ springs to mind. Lai is obviously not trying to safeguard his investment. It is going down quicker than the Titanic with signings such as this. But knowing our situation what player worth his salt would want to join us now! It is a lose, lose situation sadly.

Good footballer. Age is a concern though.

18 month deal I'd be ok with. We are going to need bodies for next season regardless of league with so many contracts up.

Snodgrass is decent and spent majority of his career in the PL.  Not scared like the current lot.

I like Snodgrass. I just feel like we’re a couple of years too late on that front.

I’m not sure signing players at the age of 33 is the way to go.

Ok with Snodgrass as long as a few more slightly younger signings arrive but with a bit more experience than our current lads.

Given the local media are reporting our interest I’ve split the posts from the tat thread and created a Snodgrass topic

I'd give him 18 month deal. No more.

Need these kind of signings to hopefully go with the PL loan and global loan who are, as said younger. Would be fine if the EFL too if we go down.

Not sure he's in a position we need. Can't remember which foot is his stronger, but we are well stocked for wingers.

I'd imagine Grosiki is off. Doesn't sound like anything happening with Edwards contract either. I think Snodgrass plays either side.

Is it his left foot? I have recollection of him cutting in onto his left foot.

We are likely to get more use from him than the likes of Edwards, Grosicki and to an extent Diangana. I do agree though, in terms of priorities then other positions stand out.

He's left footed but plays on the right more.

We would have him, Diangana, Robinson and Phillips.

Edit assuming Grosicki and Edwards go

Edit 2 I'd love if Phillips went but can't see it.

They still want more of course but can only have 2 loans so need to find a few nominal fee PL players for other positions.

Snodgrass is about what I expected and is why I think we should not let Allardyce have his own players unless he pays for them himself.

Yeah, same here. We were strongly linked with him whilst he was at Hull but if my memory serves me correctly he wanted to move to London. West Ham have probably had the last of his best years. A 33 year old winger isn’t the answer.

I have always rated Snodgrass and we need more creativity. Whilst we already have wingers, I don't think we should turn our noses up if we can get him relatively cheap.

Would Snodgrass have (almost) 80 caps if he was Polish? Not for me. The answer is staring us in the face if we need more quality in wide areas.

IMO This is not someone we need.  Does he improve the team? Is he better than what we have?
I don't think so.

18 month deal  as we need bodies next year for championship return.. however not sure he is what need right now. Does it mean grosicki going? Or Edwards?

Jumping on him before he even signs. People criticise our current squad then call out potential new signings as poo before they even put pen to paper. Why bother supporting Albion? We’ll never sign world beaters but Snodgrass knows how to play in the basement of the league which is exactly what we need right now.
