So I presume you have seen enough of him to make that sort of judgement? Pocognoli has impressed me so far but looks open to mistakes quite often and in the premier league that could prove costly. There is nothing suggesting this lad is going to walk into the side but he will provide good competition with pocognoli for a starting berth.
You could substitute Pocognoli with Popov in that paragraph, and look how that ended up !
I think we have to accept that players at WBAFC (currently) will be prone to occasional errors and as fans we need to be more "realistic" unless we can find a Derek Statham of course

If you're thinking of putting money on this, I'd swap Barnsley for Burnley. Only my opinion mind. ;)
****, no wonder the bookie ripped my slip out of my hands.

Fair cop guv!!!

Telling comment from the official site

The chairman confirmed that, further to Martin’s appointment, the board will shortly take delivery of an independent audit of the club’s marketing and communications operations which will provide further guidance for future strategies

JP has spent money to re-assess, that is a sign that he is serious about correcting the errors of last season.
has to be welcomed IMO

Hull, baggies, soton, palace, Leics, sunderland, newc, Stoke all there abouts too.
gap to the top 6 will widen further.

I agree that Sunderland are the best value on the list and Leicester should be shorter. QPR are the worst value, if they keep Remy and get Taarabt's head on straight.

QPR would be one of my 3 to go down, Harry can't manage players, he can spend money.
Taraabt is a telent but also a loose cannon,
Remy? who knows what state his head is in after the Liverpool farce, maybe we could take a cheeky punt?

Is there a chance Gamboa could still play but labelled as a 'trialist'
Like your thinking.

overrated flash in the pan !
Needs to much "management" for my liking, but then I am an old fart and he's a modern footballer so its not surprising I think that way

to travel from norfolk cost effectively we need 3 tickets, clearly we would like these together.

Why are there smaller crowds against the "big" clubs? I have to admit to being very surprised by the numbers, maybe casuals like myself assume that tickets will be sold out?
When we sit in pub planning our matches we tend to discount the big games at Hawthorns either because
a) assume we wont get tickets
b) timing, usually televised therefore all over the shop time wise
c) because they are televised
d) we've done an away game recently and cash / time needs justifying

Basedon these numbers maybe we should ring for "big" game tickets and see what happens.

Qu: does segregation / stewarding / policing consume more seats for the big gmaes, i don't see how it does but maybe?
Are the gaps in the away fans ?

8014
You know Alan Irvine may surprise all of us even the so called experts.
friggin hope you are right

this is correct as a long distance fan, I have to focus my visits on the games against less attractive clubs to ensure I get a seat, I firmly believe if an area was designated for "casuals" it would be well utilised.

Also I don't really understand why we have to be at 95% plus occupancy to justify creating  more capacity.

A little off topic,but,
Last august I can clearly remeber saying and writingabout how excited i was about Steve clarke having the best squad for 30 years to utilise.
Its well documented how that un-ravelled,
I refuse to let my enthusiasm run away with me this year, despite the good start to the window and the "re-freshing" of the squad, plus the less than impressive CV's of the coaching staff.

Here's hoping I'm wrong again  :D

I'm not a CB fan and I definately do not think he's a leader on the pitch.

personally i'd give it to Mulla, he will run through walls for the team, his enthusiasm is infectious, if a little OTT at times. I think he would become a better player with the added responsibility as well.

I genuinely hope it turns out to be not so bad as thought and GT has a good and speedy recovery,

I must say though, I do think Derby would be ill-advised to loan him out when he recovers and needs game time, they may not see him again.

modern players eh?

Wonder why that is? Any suggestion like boots, pitches, speed at which the game is played?

Blades on boots, and boot uppers being like tissue paper must a contributory factor. oops thats meta-tarsals my mistake

In the owd days, it was "he's done his cartlidge = end of career,
Maybe its just better diagnosis / treatment nowadays??

Isn't it the case that players registrations are lodged with a 3rd party (FA) and they will have to "approve" the transfer of registration ? hence delays will be inevitable if there is any doubt on either side about the termination of the registration.
