It's great to bump into Baggies miles from West Brom but even better when they're an old character like your gent. I  bet he told you a few things about the Albion from before your time.
Fantastic I bet a good time was had by all.

This shows what an amazing job we are doing to be in the top six, normally if you have no recognisable stirker you will be in the bottom six.

Might be my brain not yet functioning, but who is AG please Malcolm?
Who is AG?
These initials  are hard enough without using them on a player we know as Pipa, FTLOG.

We are one of two clubs not to pay a transfer fee this season in the championship and are 5th in the league. Despite huge financial constraints most of the signings over the last couple of seasons have been a success. But you just can’t please some people, or they get more enjoyment from complaining.
The kid was a shot in the dark a 50/1 chance even Mikey Johnston I thought at the time wasn't needed boy as he proved otherwise.
We do seem to have more than our share of moaners I remember when we used to laugh at the vile for having fickle fans.

Loved that team if I had to choose an Albion side to come back the 78/79 team would be it.
A few in that team would be worth a king's ransom today Staham, Robson, Cyrille and Laurie either one would clear our current debt with money to spare.

I give up, I really do
Most of those criticising wouldn't have been around during 86-2002 era I would suggest
We had some godawful players then all started by Ron Saunders  and the less said about him the better.

Personally blame the goalkeeper for that it was on the fullback's head and the keeper was in no mans land.

We have a lot of clean sheets but I can’t remember our keeper making lots of saves in those games. In a lot of those games the opposition have barely had a shot on target. Away from home where we face more shots on goal we’re struggling to keep clean sheets. Palmer has made about 8 simple mistakes leading to goals this season, which is way too many and will eventually cost us our play off place if we don’t replace him.
I've looked at your recent posts  Palmer etc and everyone is negative everyone not even a positive post when we score to show a modicum of balance.  Very odd to be  so negative even under Bruce most people found something positive to say never mind doing well under CC in  difficult circumstances.

Sorry bud only just saw this, i used the words "for this level" as in comparison to the rest of the league bar the 3 relegated PL clubs. Compared to the other 20 clubs we have more than most. Doesn't mean our individual recruitment is good overall.

What i came here to post is roll on the international break!
No worries as for the international break ASAP.

All players make mistakes looking at our defensive record it's clear Palmer must be doing something right . Only Leeds by one game have more clean sheets than the Albion. A lot of people moan for the sake of it for some people that's all they do they never post anything positive.

We have been short upfront all season and the last few games do not have one  recognised striker so tactically CC hands are very much tied, considering this problem it's amazing the position we are in.

There are no easy game especially this time of year with teams near the bottom fighting for their lives this one will be no exception with QPR picking up in recent weeks.

I have no issue whatsoever with the recruitment over the past two seasons, quite the opposite, we have consistently acted smartly and got a lot of great business done, in terrible circumstances.
It's true the recruitment department have done better when we had no money to spend, work that one out!

 :D

Crazy depth for this league outside the 3 PL clubs
I'm a bit confused our recruitment team gets loads of stick  yet you reckon we have a strong squad the two statements don't quite gel.

In about the 33rd minute, I was wondering if Bartley should replace Pieters. Thinking about it, I don't think that Pieters has made any contribution to the game.
We must be doing well to fill that gap in defence.

Given the players we have available, I'm surprised about Diangana playing also it's time he delivered.

From the above 1967 team line-up, the only player I cannot remember is Dennis Clarke.
Anyone remember him? What a great squad that was led by Graham Williams - a top class full back.

Seem to remember John Kaye was a hard as granite Yorkshireman who did very well as a number 9 post the Derek Kevan era and later in his career Kaye reverted to centre-half and again excelled in that position.  Jeff ‘The King’ Astle took over the number 9 shirt and the rest is history.
Remember him coming on in the FA Cup Final hardly surprising you don't recall him he made 21 appearances between 65/68 then played for Huddersfield and Blues.
