You’re unlucky then Brian. You obviously weren’t there when we thrashed them 4-0 under Di Mateo. Now that was a good away day. :o
I had forgotten that one Keith, but unfortunately missed it. Just as well i'm not going ! ;)

Not for me , been there 6 times and lost the lot , including a semi-final and one of Bomber's favourite moments.

He's a grafter and doesn't quit.

He's been a bargain and I think he will continue to be useful going forward. We need strikers in the squad so he can be played out wide.

Felt a bit sorry for him on Wednesday, it seemed that the crowd were cheering him off as much as they were cheering Maja on. If that was so maybe, his dissenters may like to compare the effort that he puts in to the lack of effort of some of his "superiors" like for example Swift.

Spot on. I remember a few seasons ago we were playing Wigan at home, who were in the bottom three, everyone was predicting an easy win and we got beat 1-0.

Sides with nothing to play for (apart from pride) can be a huge banana skin as the pressure is off them and they can play with more freedom. There is the flip side though in that the last thing Rotherham will want is another heavy defeat.
Indeed and Cedric was man of the match.

I am not proud of how the club has treated this lad. Whoever decided it was a good idea to bring him on board should have no further input to player selection. Carlos's comments about "not having to play, but could gain good experience by training with our players" or words to that effect , also very disappointing.
Sometimes it's better to say nothing.
I doubt the lad has any feeling of good experience of being loaned to this great club.

You can't put them in the Halfords because logistically it's a nightmare given the location of the train station and the parking of coaches.

The alternative to the Smethwick for away fans is the East Stand Smethwick side.

No thank you ...............give away supporters the best seats in the ground?

Why we perhaps should not pay too much attention to reported accounts in Lai's tenure
take a look at this, Talksport yesterday.

Really?

We're sitting 5th in the table, with the teams above us mostly having higher wages bills than us.
What you say is true, but the teams below us are not paying anything near what we are. In my opinion we are overpaying

9
And in Layman’s terms, what does all of this mean?

One thing it means for sure is that in Championship terms , we are paying 1st class salaries for 2nd class quality overall.

Poor performance, satisfactory result. I was pleased to see Jake receive a great round of applause on his return .

Was Trev The Shed not the Director at Albion, Trevor Summers? Not sure?
Yes, called so because he had a shed building business. A figure of fun to some people, but he loved the club without a doubt.

Pre-match in the Sportsman yesterday was superb. I have never seen scenes like that watching a game that did not feature the Baggies. The group of Indian people sat close to the big screen enjoying a feast in the kitchen area didn't have a clue what was going on and just looked on in amazement.
The room went from virtual silence when the Dings went 2-1, to joyous when Cov equalised, to mass hysteria when the winner went in. Bloody fantastic.

Sir Gary Megson walked into our club and changed the course of history. Made us all so proud to be a Baggie. The manner in which we won our first promotion can never be bettered . Would not change that for winning the Champions League. Happy days - God bless ya Gary.

Clement , Robinson, Ridgewell and Graham Williams (second only to DS) all much better than Townsend

From the above 1967 team line-up, the only player I cannot remember is Dennis Clarke.
Anyone remember him? What a great squad that was led by Graham Williams - a top class full back.

Seem to remember John Kaye was a hard as granite Yorkshireman who did very well as a number 9 post the Derek Kevan era and later in his career Kaye reverted to centre-half and again excelled in that position.  Jeff ‘The King’ Astle took over the number 9 shirt and the rest is history.
Sure do, Dennis Clarke in the 1968 Final became the first ever substitute in an F.A Cup Final when he came on for Yorkie Kaye.
In those days of course only one sub, who had to named before kick-off. I always assumed that Kaye must have been carrying an injury as Dennis was chosen as sub. He certainly did not let us down despite us being on the back foot for most of the second half at least.

Caleb Taylor picked up a "nasty injury" last night according to the Bolton manager. Suspecting ankle ligament damage. Does it never end?

I just had a quick look at the website, and it appears to be a sell-out.

I hope all the £23 ticket holders show up. It would be a shame if there are loads of empty seats for the new owners first appearance.

I was just chatting with a bloke at work who is a church goer, and he asked me how it came about that we took TLMS as our anthem?

I couldn't answer and the only thing I could find online was one suggestion from 8 years ago that stated it was a cup game in the 70's against Everton when a load of drunks sang it because the match was being played on a Sunday, and then it reappeared regularly again from the 90's?

Is this right?

I was at that game ( at Goodison ) and it was indeed sung, not by a load of drunks but Everton and Albion supporters my dad and myself included. There was no segregation of course in those days, so it would be difficult for us to claim exclusivity but I think after that some of the lads decided it would be unique. Sunday matches were taboo in those days .
It was enforced by an energy crisis affecting the use of floodlights, and Everton and Liverpool were both drawn at home. A toss of a coin determined that Liverpool played on the Saturday and Everton on the Sunday. I think we took more supporters than normal

Considering all the things he apparently can't and doesn't do I'm taking it as a bonus that two of the things he can and does do are put some effort in and hit the back of the net every now and again. We've got what we paid for and continue to pay for in wages.

A lower league wide forward with enthusiasm, a good work ethic and a desire to succeed who under normal circumstances would not have been expected to carry this amount of workload due to injuries. There's room for improvement but overall he's doing just fine.
Good post...spot on, not a patch on Kenneth Zohore  ;)

Doesn't mean he's any good, remember Paul Williams we got from Stockport 😭😭😭.
Of course I remember him, but Pieters is a mismatch for a 6ft 5ins centre forward in a heading battle . In fact so is Okay
