In this day and age it's a 100% penalty but I'd say a penalty won rather than given away. Macca is a great outlet.

To me pen, no contact but lunge at a player like that in the box at that speed and not get the ball, pen in this day and age.

Evans looks comfortable and Love the way Macca is so positive looks to attack every time

Jay Rogriguez has the beating of Dawson at the mo. It's a decent came but we're too slow on the front foot and aren't passing the ball well enough. Fletcher and Gardner just getting in each other's way is a perfect example of how we aren't capitalising on breaks and moments where there are openings.

Nice of the club to stop Berahino getting his deserved boos by playing the Liquidator instead of reading the teams out.

I can see why we have to hoof.
We are rubbish at passing and no way can any of our players run with the ball.

The strikers are getting absolutely no support. Everytime either Rondon or Lambert gets  decent ball played to them, the midfield don't bother getting up with them and providing options and we promptly lose it. I'd bring Morrison on for Gardner.

Pretty poor fayre from both sides in my opinion, apart from a possible penalty shout for us & a header that Rodriquez should have scored from nothing much happening! Same old problems - poor passing & poor ball control/retention - having said all that this game is there for the winning!! Berahino penalty in the 93rd minute anybody? 8)

I don't think that's his strength, the same as Ideye. They both thrive on having chances created for them. The problem is, as with the Port Vale and Stoke games, we don't have that creativity. I don't think we had a shot on target in the first-half, which just highlights our failure to stengthen the squad in key areas that many fans were crying out for during the transfer window.

Playing Gardner on the left wing doesn't help with regard to width or creativity either. Has Gnabry just been brought in to warm the bench? I'm sure Arsenal would have been expecting him to have been a regular starter for us, but Pulis seems too scared to use him for anything other than 20 minute cameos.

Decent first half between two decent sides - which says a lot for us. I think Southampton just about sneaked it so far, but it looks like a mistake or a moment of inspiration to really break the deadlock.

Evans is beginning to show an interest and Macca has had some good touches.

The ref is being conned a bit by both sides, but I didn't think it was quite a penalty.

Remember the past - learn from it

Very little creativity in the team. That's why we have to rely on so many long balls forward. 0-0, 1-0 or 0-1 written all over it.

Yacob pick of the bunch. Defence playing well. Passing, invention and attacking play is hopeless. McManaman the only player looking forward.
Gnabry for Gardner and Morrison for Lambert for me.

I'm not a Gardner hater by any means, and think he is a good squad option but how he has started today ahead of Mozza is literally unbelievable to me. Rondon needs to come off for Berahino as he's looking a bit flat today, most probably due to his midweek exploits with Venezuela. Happy with 0-0 at half time if we can build on this in the 2nd half. Infact I'd take a point at full time if it was on offer now, especially with the Villa game looming.

Need to get Macca on the ball more. He's the only player who is getting beyond our strikers and stretching Southampton

Definitely, he looks like our only genuine creative outlet. For me he should be one of the first names on the team sheet when fit, home or away.

The problem is, Rondon played 180 min with the Vinotinto, he must be tired, the second game with the vinotinto was in a pool because the rain was too much for the drain field.
