That’s what having a plan and executing it looks like.
Let’s wait and see if he does any good first. He’ll do well to be a better signing than Pereira.

If he flops, he flops. They deserve credit for being decisive though. Got in that early and got it done.

The Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui has apparently turned Spurs down according to the BBC.  I don't use the phrase embarrassing too often because things are seldom as straight forward as fans would like them to be and deals unravel for all sorts of reasons.  But this is now legitimately described as embarrassing.

Will be very interested to see how Favre gets on. Plays more attacking football than Roy, and did well at Dortmund and M'Gladbach. But I think he got the push at Dortmund because the players stopped playing for him. Last time Palace found a top coach from the Continent, Frank de Boer, it didn't work so well.

Let's be clear Farve is a very good coach and about as good as one Palace could have landed. The task of rebuilding the squad is huge they have 14 senior players at present and two of which have long term injuries. In addition come January they will lose 4 players to the AFCON for the month.

On the one hand there seems to be plenty of scope for Farve to shape the squad but on the other that is about 10 players that need to be recruited and right now they can barely get an XI out in any shape.

Favre appears to have opted against Palace.

Meanwhile  Spurs are going for Nuno after initially deciding against him and saying they wanted an attacking manager.

Premier league clubs making a meal of their recruitment.

Favre appears to have walked away from Palace offer. Says he wants longer away from  football. Bizarre. He's 63 and been out of work since start of the year.

Mendes has swapped out Nuno for Lage at the Dingles. Got Mourinho in at Roma and it now looks like he has Nuno placed with  Spurs. Watch players go round that circuit. Rui Patricio already reported to be on his way to Roma. Every move equals a fee for Mendes and his partners Fosun.

And I repeat UEFA do not regulate agents.

I think Grealish will reject the new deal and force the move. The next time he plays at Villa Park he’ll be roundly jeered and booed.

Is he really worth that much?

Will certainly help Villa with any FFP issues they had. Once again, they get away with it.

Hopefully the owners see this as a chance of getting some of their money back.

Personally, I think he’d be better to stay at Villa. They’ll pay him the money he wants too.

First name on the sheet, playing every week. And he’s already been to Wembley with them 5 times, which ain’t bad considering.

I've had Palace to go down next season for a while and th is doesn't do much to convince me otherwise. Two good names were close but their third feels a step down.

Wish Viera well, has a decent pedigree and he is a natural leader but he struggled in his first  European management gig.

Seems a bit of rookie option when you consider the scale of their rebuild.

I'll be amazed if he sees out the season

Benitez officially announced as new Everton manager.

It has gone down like an absolute lead balloon. Imagine our appointment of Alan Irvine x 1000.
