If Preston fail to beat Southampton tonight, realistically they can't catch us.

In that case it will be Leeds which will be tough but I suppose same can be said of Southampton.Or Leicester, or Ipswich or possibly Southampton. All difficult.
He has to play though. Not his fault. CC doesn't like any of the young strikers so he will play.Maja hasn't proved anything yet.
The decision to leave Maja out of todays game was stupid but we can't do anything about it now
Maybe just as important not to pick up any injuries with Play-Offs on the horizon. On the otehr hand, we can't afford to slip up against Sunderland.
Looking forward to it, watched Sunderland the other night and they are a typical championship side clattering into the back of opposition players and willing to run until they drop or substituted. As Ballard goes in, he makes sure his foot goes down the ankle. Jack Clarke is the main danger - show him down the outside.
Well absolutely but if that decision had been against us I'd have been incensed. Not bothered about Norwich, Coventry, it's up them to win their games as much as it is up to us to win ours. I'm just feeling a bit of injustice, doesn't sit well at all.Yes, I like to win fair and in some way the extra goal flatters us.
Anyone feel inclined to pop over to the Rotherham Forum and say sorry for the referee?Doesn't really alter their season. Its Norwich, Coventry who might have lost out.
Never a peno...feel bad for the (few) Rotherham fans. Usually used to those decisions going against us. I don't like to rag on the ref but that was one of the worst decisions I've seenIt's only academic really to Rotehrham. Its Coventry , Norwich etc. who might be effected.
Just been reading that Blues are intending to build a new stafium, sicken me when we cant even rebuild HalfordsBit unlikely given where Blues are now. And by the way I hope they stay up.
It obviously makes sense to encourage the next generation of (potential) supporters.Even if we have an American owner, hope we don't see too much US style pre-match razamtazz etc. American Football, baseball etc have evolved differently to football as we know it, and part of the matchday experience here, is the typical football atmosphere in the stadiums. That 'should' be mainly generated by the crowd and fans and not outside gimmicks.
I wonder whether the youngsters might be influenced by the sort of pre-match entertainment they see from watching American Football on TV/stream - I know its all about razzmatazz and very little about actual playing, flowing action .
I think all football clubs will need to try harder as the coming generation are not so used to the spartan fare that I experienced (gladly) when I first went to the Hawthorns. At least it seemed easy to park and get to the ground.
Weighted by minutes, we have the oldest squad in the league. I think it's noticeable also how we don't rotate at full back - it's a guarantee that Furlong and Townsend will start and more often than not play 90 minutes. Not saying Furlong and Townsend are perfect by any means, but most managers are reluctant to rotate defenders. There has to be alot of trust and understanding between the back 4 players (and the keeper) , and if you are chopping and changing too often, they have to re-adapt to one another.
You'd expect Stoke to be better at adapting to it, if its there most weeks. It may work to their advantage at the other end now.
Hope we can try and take a bit of advantage of that wind and cause some chaos in their area.
Interesting that we have this thread, but a number of posters have referred to other teams new stadiums as “soulless bowls”Interesting point, but I don't think the home atmosphere would be any better if it was inside a typical 'identikit bowl'. In a bowl the crowd is further from the pitch. Its not just the modern ones. The old Stamford Bridge had a running track or something around the pitch and Chelsea made a point of re-designing their stadium closer to the pitch. If you look at the stadiums where the crowd is closest to the pitch, that definitely gives their teams an edge.
It’s the fans that make the atmosphere…not the stadium designers.
