I think if she is good enough then why shouldn’t she be considered.

Whether it works and she manages to get players behind her is another thing, but I see no reason why a woman couldn’t coach and manage a team as well as a man. At worst she can only be bad...like a ton of male managers are

Apparently she’s not interested and no money in the world could tempt her. In other words she wasn’t successful in her application. We’ve seen it ourselves over the years, most recently with Alex Neil.

Both Hayes and Wimbledon have confirmed that it was a non story. It was probably the case that at boardroom level Wimbledon mentioned her and it got to the press. For what it's worth, Hayes would have been made to leave guaranteed job security at Chelsea women to go to  relegation threatened league 1 side.

What do those being disparaging about the idea of a woman managing a men's football team feel about the plethora of instances that exist of men managing women's football teams?

Are your views based on sociological reasons or is it down to misogyny? Also, what does political ideology have to do with it?

I imagine you probably included my comments in this, since it was only BB74 and I who had commented on it.

I have absolutely no problem with women doing any job in any field. It’s also not a given a women will do a poor job either. I think the odds are against them though.

I think a women entering the mans game is significantly different given the history and profile of each variant. Sociological factors do come in to play. There is also a big difference between a group of young men and a group of young women at the best of times, but this seems to be heightened in sport and then football magnifies this a thousand times further.

Any one else noticed the job Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank is doing at my local club Burton Albion

They were absolutely rock bottom at New Year and looking certs for relegation

Since Jimmy took over on New Years Day they have won 8 out of 10 games (won the last 5 on the bounce), and are now 5 points clear of the drop zone with 2 games in hand of most teams

Win percentage 80%

I commented on JFH on another thread yesterday (i was reluctant to say too much about his current run due to the ban on discussing alternative managers) he was also featured on TV at the weekend.

Well done Salford City on winning the 2020 Papa Johns Trophy yesterday, which they will hold for less than 24 hours as the 2021 final is today!

Must be the record for the shortest time a team has the trophy. They literally just got it travelled back to Salford and then instantly it needs to be returned back to I guess Wembley.

I'd be fascinated to know what's in it for these investment companies. Potentially dwindling broadcast revenue, most clubs running at a loss and a European quasi super league on its way.

How are you meant to make serious money?

The plan is take an underperforming Lower League club give it a quick spit and polish, get it promoted to the Premier League. Sell for vast profit sail off into the sunset.

Now far from me to rain on anyone's parade. But that seems to be the exact same plan the previous owner had when he bought Ipswich Town, in the Championship. £100m of losses latter Ipswich are in League 1 and looking at the Boulevard of Broken dreams that is the Championship that is strewn with the wreckage of countless other similar projects.

Unless these guys have another angle then I struggle to see how it works and I if they were managing my pension fund I would be looking for another fund manger maybe one with a the rights to a roulette system.  :D

It seems to defy logic that so many people who have successfully made a load of shekels are that dumb,
The only ones who I can think of who have made a fist of it are
Parrish at Palace
Thais at Leicester
Burnley  and no one else springs to mind

how can clever people be so daft ?

Peterborough promoted after a 3-3 draw with Lincoln.  Lincoln were 3-0 up.

Peterborough with a stoppage time equaliser from the penalty spot. Never a foul in a million years
