Nigel Pearson for me every day.

Shame his Leicester tenure came to an abrupt end, but what he did with them shows that he knows what to do. Gave them style as well.

It’s all very well saying disaster signing but the rest too:

Livermore : how many good games?  15 months in now.  Reasonable athlete covers ground, capable of keeping simple possession, can be strong in tackle.  Worth £10m I’d say no.

Barry : too old and 1 year too far, Everton’s judgement spot on.  Was decent first 2 months got progressively worse.

Chadli : £13m hardly played, has talent, VFM=no.

Brunt : Was a left back last season.  Too slow now.  Still great for assists.  The problem is we are going to be cut open by opposition.

Field : to early to judge.  Will be good for him to have a full season at lower level.

Yacob : ageing, great VFM.  Does what is says on tin.

Sorry but without the Pole’s input we would’ve been worse.  This is similar to Valero.  He’s had a great career.

I fully agree with you. He is talented but when you are surrounded by Championship players who cannot 'read' him then Greg is always going to look bang average, as he has done with us. I feel sorry for him personally; he came to us to get Premiership experience and put himself in the shop window.....I bet he cannot wait to leave and personally I don't blame him.

Wilder is next, the bloke will ko Joshua imo

Not sure he will tbh, he is a one trick pony with a wicked right. Work that out and Joshua will be OK. Ortiz nearly beat Wilder the other week, and Wilder knew it .......

Kev, my words exactly. I lost it at the ground yesterday and for the first time the stewards didn't tell me to calm down.

That kid nicking your seat didn't help!!!

Is that buffoon and his hapless geordie sidekick still there????

Never been so depressed as watching that rubbish yesterday. What has happened to our wonderful club?

Alan, please just go and at least save a little bit of dignity.......

Or is it 'All about the money, money, money........?'

And that is why it's good to have Jenkins back as under him we were financially sound. He was gone for a short period of time and during that reign our finances seem to have decayed so it's good to see his return.

I will look forward to Division 1 football safe in the knowledge that we don't have an overdraft.......

I really hope David Price retires after tonight. There is a lot of love for him in the game but he would have been mullered by Parker or Joshua. His physique and style are just wrong. Really feared for him tonight after that knockout.... just pleased he recovered.....

As someone who remembers Paul Williams and Colin West well , all I'll say is Rondon is great! He seems a lovely bloke and is a decent enough player for me - cost the same as Ollie Burke!!!

Broke out in a cold sweat at the mere sight of those names.

I remember seeing a Rangers fan once wearing a tee shirt saying 'I've seen Colin West score'......that's how bad it was then!

To hear some people talk you would think the club have gone bust.  :o

There's still time Kev!

Lets be fair there have been a few raised eyebrows in the summer with our 'acquisitions' and the associated fees/wages, and it would appear that they/we were right to question them....

Its the double negative that confused me.... have we got money or not?  ;)

I see the 'hand shandy' boys are at it again.

This is off the BBC website and in the Times apparently

West Ham United are in a fresh legal dispute with London Stadium's landlords over who should pay for a series of costs including providing draught beer, Sky TV and hospitality staff.

What do they actually pay for as a club?

I would like to think that CB will stay. Even though he got his break at Sheffield he has been with us a long time now and seems to be Albion through and through. Can see some sort of role for him after he is done with playing..... certainly one of the few on the pitch that cares these days.

Cheers Hunnington

This thread can be quite amusing at times, hope Ali doesn't read it.

Condemned before he has even played for us!

Him and Hegazi could be quite some force for us in the Championship.......

I will be there regardless. Looking forward to seeing a team playing as a team, working with each other and having a definite strategy, coached by a decent bloke... and I seriously wished I was talking about the Albion, but obviously I'm not.

May as well see how its done.

I agree with much of what you say, however....’dispose of’ just ain’t realistic.
Barry, Chadli, Sturridge, Krychowiak, Evans; are all leaving without doubt for a multitude of obvious and slightly less obvious reasons. I would love to see Chadli in the Championship but it just ain’t going to happen! 🙄🙏.

I would just love to see Chadli on the pitch to be honest........

Looking at the news today I see that the usual suspects are sniffing around Salah for about £200m....

Another player the 'genius' Mourinho had in his side and couldn't get a tune out of.....like De Bruyne and Lukaku :)

and we can probably add Sanchez to that list too.

« on: March 19, 2018, 04:23:27 PM »

No doubt. But as I said on March 8th to almost universal agreement, we deserve an explanation regards the manager not being removed. Not whether they did a good job on the Liverpool ticket allocation or the women's club shop range.

I agree with you, but I anticipate they cannot comment on his position whilst he is still there. It could be for a number of reasons identified on the AP thread, potential constructive dismissal issues spring to mind, or how much it will cost the club to give him the hook early.

On the bright side they have made an impressive job with the women's club shop range, so all is not lost.

The AA is a joke a PR exercise. No power. People not worked that out yet? A waste of time.

So what is your suggestion as to how the ordinary Albion fan can interact directly with representatives at the club then?

Whatever the answer is, he is still there for a reason. Either the prawn sandwich brigade are completely inept and are praying for a miracle, or they are 'savvy' and have a long term plan, but can save money by following a certain route, which includes leaving him in position.

Personally I wouldn't like to call it.......

3571
Well said Mr Scharner! Exactly what so many of us have been saying for three years, its so refreshing that some people from within the profession are realising the importance of a clubs very heart and soul. We will get our club back one day.

With views like that I would give Mr Scharner a role.........

3572
I have voted yes, but it does come with the caveat that we appoint an up and coming manager who actually wants to play football and do well, challenge for promotion and give the cups a serious go. Also, the vast majority of the 'mercenaries' we currently have leave [others have correctly named the ones that should stay] and build a new team around youth and pace.

I believe we have the oldest average age for a team in the Premier, and that is part of the reason why we are 20th in the league.

It would be good to run this poll again when the music has stopped playing and all the seats are taken........ie. August 1st.

Just seen the first goal on MOTD. Has already been said but what on earth was Phillips doing? May as well sent the player a party invite, he backed off him so much. His nonchalant attitude just about sums the whole team up....

and Foster could have thrown his cap on that shot and stopped it. Pathetic but unfortunately very much expected.

Had a clear out yesterday and found my early season gift pack from the club, car sticker, £20 discount club shop vouchers, and lots of promise in the accompanying letter. Chucked the lot in the bin......what a load of rubbish we are.

Just goes to show the apathy we all feel as we are not really talking about the game. Normally this thread is quite busy leading up to the game.

Horrible feeling isn't it?
