Better start practising penalties Gareth.

Bit late for that, he won't be taking one this time around though...... thankfully.

good in the Championship and an utter failure in the PL? I’m hoping it’s more 3rd time lucky!

Pooper of parties.

When the 'white smoke' finally rises a lot of people on this forum are going to be very disappointed as the head stewards vape cloud clears to reveal the return of Pardew and Carver  ;D .

We're playing within ourselves, conserving energy and looking to catch the big boys unawares when it matters. Tournament football. Gareth has a cunning plan.

He's keeping our bright young attacking players out of the spotlight because he knows no other international manager at this tournament has access to a Betamax video player and as such will know nothing about them.

The big boys are going to be in for one heck of a shock when he unleashes Bellingham et.al from the kick off....... no need to panic as everything's under control, keep the faith and all that.

We've played ok in spells but for the most part this has still bored me half out of my mind.

....Would have also liked a bit of a shame up of the base ofbthat midfield but Southgate must feel they are the 2 for the knockouts....

Thinking you might be better off typing your posts up with your fingers rather than your toes. Glad to be of assistance  ;D .

Mate of mine once said "the more practice you get the worse you are"  ;D

It was probably his subtle way of saying 'mate, I know I said we needed extra bodies in the outfield for training purposes but this playing cricket lark's really not for you'   ;D  ;) .

Met Terry on a few occasions. That sheepskin coat of his was a regular fixture of our fixtures for many a season. Good man with an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Albion who maintained an unabashed enthusiasm for 'his' boyhood team through good times and bad. A very decent man and a sad loss.

Rest in Peace Terry Wills.

How long have we got left before the discount runs out?
Balancing waiting for the new manager to be announced against my built into my DNA need to renew no matter what (especially to keep my beloved seat in the Smethwick)

See you there Frank  ;) .

You can see what will happen.
Scottish infection rates increase.
Jimmy Cranky blames the football fans for importing the virus over the border from England

More likely to blame the government for failing to maintain Hadrian's Wall.

I suppose it could be an idea to test the G7 Summit entourage (security details as well as political staff) for Covid to help with track and tracing.

I completely agree but if you are looking purely at players who can high press for 90 minutes week in week out your market is slimmed down a lot......

His teams don't press for ninety minutes. They press in spells which means they can press at a higher intensity when they do press.

It's turning into an impossible tournament to pick at the moment. Italy the only side after 2 rounds who look consistently good.

Are you currently down at the bookies by any chance  ;D ?

Official site states 168cm which in feet according to google is 5.51181.

I'm 5ft 7 and i've stood next to him, he was taller than me so somethings wrong somewhere  :D

Probably pavement camber  ;D .

According to Football Insider, we have lined up Marco Silva in the event talks with Ismael collapse!

https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-brom-make-contact-with-ex-everton-boss-after-ismael-talks-latest/

West Brom have lined up ex-Everton boss Marco Silva as a fall-back option in case talks with Valerien Ismael collapse, Football Insider can reveal.

The Oakwell manager has emerged as the latest frontrunner in Albions’s lengthy managerial hunt.

But a deal is not yet agreed and ..... West Brom are wary of having an alternative in case their latest managerial pursuit is unsuccessful......

...... 'we haven't got a clue in all honesty and just thought we'd throw an unemployed manager's name into the mix'.

Should have done an Ismael, gone 343 and swarmed them with a high press. They'd have thought we were midges. Would have got right up their kilts.........

I don't know who lists these things on the internet but Townsend is taller than 5ft 6. I'd estimate 5 ft 9 or 5 ft 10.

168 cm according to the official site......

https://www.wba.co.uk/player/30

....... whomever our new manager is he'll probably be looking for a bigger centre half than Mr. Townsend, not that it occurred to me to play him there anyway  ;D .

I think it would be saying a lot to be honest   :-X .

5'6 according to many player profile sites across t'internet. Could get Shaun Wright-Phillips in to partner him as right centre half.

Fair enough, I thought 5ft 9 with two pairs of socks was being a bit generous. 5ft 7 with three pairs of socks and newly acquired flipper like feet it is then  ;D .

One positive from last night is that Tyrone Mings wasn't as bad as normal. I'd even go so far as to say that a couple of positional head scratchers aside he didn't do too bad at all. Hurries to the toilet to scrub tongue clean with recently used bog brush......

Townsend's about 5ft 9 inches when he wears two pairs of socks and gets caught for height with cross field diagonal balls at left back. I'd dread to see him at centre half. Better off promoting someone from the youth set up or bringing in a left footed centre half.

Let's calm it down, no-one wants to see the topic be locked due to petty squabbling, but that's the way it's going

There's been enough talk of locking things down recently thank you very much. You'd probably be doing us all a favour if you did though, a break  from the tedium of bickering could prove a real shot in the arm in the long run....  ;D  ;) .
