Not sure that's even cynical. Its probably the smart move. It's definitely the right strategic move for the club.

SJ & MP's sales will bankroll the rebuild. we need 5, maybe 6 top of Championship level players. Sellling those two will get us that. If MP did his knee and was out for 6/7/8 months it would scupper all of that. Big picture unfortunately.

Yep.

Doesnt bother me st all if we protect our interests by leaving Pereira out at Leeds. It makes absolute sense with nothing at all to play for. In truth it's a game we just want out of the way.

If that is why Pereira isnt playing it's a bit of a shame they didnt just come out and say so, I'm sure 99% of fans will understand.

Fair point.
Glad to have you in the accepted he is leaving camp, holding onto him is a pipe dream some on here are desperately clinging onto.

Wouldn't you just sit him on the bench if it wasn't a genuine injury/problem?

I think he'll leave. No idea how much for, but I think he'll go. If the money is spent right (ha!) I won't mind too much, as long as he doesn't move locally. If he joined a West Ham or an Everton he'd go with my blessing (not that he or anyone else will be worried about that).

Set to miss the Leeds game due to injury..

Is that the last we’ve seen of him?  ::)

Where have you seen this Liam?

Only asking as he's on today's social media feed for the run up to the game....

Has to be at least £50m for me. Some lucky club's going to get an absolute bargain. Fantastic footballer.

I wonder just how much is going on behind the scenes we'll never know about regarding Pereira's future and any prospective new managers we may be speaking to? This is a pivotal moment in our history that will have a massive effect on the next few years.

We seem to have a pivotal moment in our history every two years.

try every 6 months, or less depending on what anyone attached to the club says on any given day.

Am i right in saying he has 2 years still on his contract?. If that is the case the club can hold out for the highest bidder.

If he has done a sickie while his agent tries to engineer a move totally disgusting and if he goes will not be forgotten

Remember the comments about Dawson missing a pre season game ... will there be the same reaction ?

Dawson refused to play and train, effectively going on strike. So no Pereira being poorly will not generate the same reaction.

Pereira is miles ahead of Dawson in talent.  You can't deny him a move to a champions league club.

A moment of calm please, we have no idea what the cause of absence is. Let's not slaughter the memory of a damned good football player who's provided us with numerous wonderful memories just yet please.

Agreed. For all we know he has been given permission to leave the squad early to fly back home to see his family for a month.

If he's rang in sick then sod him. As stated none of us know the truth. Sam said he should be recovered from his arm injury then rang in sick. Smoke and mirrors perhaps but the club could easily have said he was injured on the flip side and protected him but no one should lie for anyone else so if he rang in sick he rang in sick.

Pretending to be ill is worst than effective going on strike and not being paid.
