I still can't help really liking Mick - thinks like a fan, talks like a fan and demands of his players what a fan paying his money would.

Agreed, he will never be the best coach/manager or get a top job but he's straight talking, honest, and demands his players give it there all.

Not really, Jarvis is a better player than Thomas.  He'l be off if they go down.

God help the future for England if Jarvis is in the squad.

Etherington isn't really that good. He's about 29 so has no international future to speak. He fits Stoke well due to how they play but he'd be woeful when he'd be required to do more than try and win a throw or corner.

Bringing in Jarvis to the England squad to me just shows how poor our international side is.

Fair play to the chap though - good luck to him.

Jarvis should have been given a chance in the recent friendlies and I mean given game time too, only way you will know what players are like when given the chance. Hardly any point in taking the risk on him in a qualifier but good luck to him, shows how poorly stocked we are for talent in my view.

Just another joke selection, will probably just be another fad like Kevin Davies was.

Zubar out for the rest of the season after surgery to a back injury.

That's a pity, as from what I've seen of him, he looked good to cost them a few more goals at crucial times in the run in....  :D

Actually I hope he recovers quickly as I never like to hear of any player out injured...

Kevin Doyle out for at least a month, maybe two. Big blow for them if that is the case as he works his backside off for that team. Ebanks Blake is not in his league.

The price paid for having internationals in your team, lets hope none of our lads suffer a similar fate on their travels.

In all fairness it could work against everyone else as the likes of Fletcher and Ebanks Blake now have a chance to prove themselves

Straight swap with Fletcher then I reckon, I doubt Mick McCarthy will change their shape. Doyle will be a big miss for them, runs his heart out.

Surely a massive loss for them. Not that i wish injury on any footballer it would be ideal for Jarvis if played to pick up a strain. We need teams around us performing on empty if possible

Just seen on sky that Doyle is/could be out for rest of the season, without him, seems we only have to finish above 2 other teams as I dont see them scoring from any other source. Mad Mick must be madder than mad Jack McMad, winner of last years Mister Mad competition

I'm not convinced with Doyle, but let's hope it hurts them.

Great :)

I doubt Doyle will effect them greatly. He's had a poor season especially where the goals are concerned. Still, he'll be a loss that's for sure.
