It was reported on April 14th that he'd be out for seven to ten days following an epidural for a back problem. The epidural took longer than expected to take effect and now it's being reported he's picked up a number of niggles and still isn't in full training. Sounds like Old Father Time is catching up with him, we may (or obviously may not) have seen the last of him for this season.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

Fit for next season in the champ should be the main priority, hopefully he can get a run out before the end of the season

Heres the quote from Sam i was looking for

"Apr 26: "The epidural is working, but not as quickly as we'd expected, so I would think that by the beginning of next week, he'd be fit to train and be selected."

Massive disappointment. I guess I was wrong to be happy with this signing, seems he's just always out.

Phillips relative form means he hasn't really been missed on the pitch, I feel he will have contributed around the place though .

Talk about having a rummage around the big dustbin of football clichés to rescue a signing which at the moment is a complete bust. If the squad needs a pet get a Labrador they are good about the place and cost a lot less.

I had actually forgot about him. Could do a job in the Championship but has to take a wage decrease.

My post has been edited by a moderator and as such loses it's entire point that there WAS a lack of professionalism in our senior players prior to Snodgrass coming in.

Your post was moderated because it wandered off the topic of Robert Snodgrass Jacko , at the very least your point on the player you quoted is unproven . No real need to drag that player into it in all fairness , hence the reports we had over it .

I accept the rules I just felt Stan needed to know he wasn't replying to the post as intended with his bruising response.  ;D

Past his sell by date, injury prone, and legs have started to go. Downhill from here and will be a waste of a wage next season. Get used to more signings of this ilk if Allardyce stays.

Hoolahan, Mears, Peltier, Ivanović.

We're already used to them...

Can't disagree with any of those names, and a few more besides. Doesn't mean we shouldn't learn from our mistakes though.

Timdon we haven't learned since Geoff Hurst in 1975 its in the clubs DNA to sign has beens, I see nothing at all which makes me think we CAN learn, if anything, we now seem to be applying the same logic to managers.

He's just tweeted a pic of himself in his hospital bed. He's had his op and said it went well and back for next season.

He’ll be like a new signing for us. Dependant on his recovery he could play a huge part this season with set pieces (assuming Pereira is sold).

Where do people see his best position this year? In the middle, wing, in the hole?

On the bench, or in the stands, ideally

on the bench or at another club, will probably spend 90% of the season on the medical table anyway i'm sure.

Even if he can get properly fit (which isn't looking likely the longer he goes without playing), I just can't see him at his age having the energy and mobility to provide what Valerien wants.
