His attitude was so **** poor that the kids deserve extra credit for playing on to the best of their abilities.

Imagine it's your first game and you have to suffer this lump sulking about the pitch for 65 minutes spending the majority of that time trying to force VI to take him off due to injury.

Surely as Zohore you understand it's a tough night at work but as one of the veterans and on damn good money you are going to do your utmost to help those making their debuts but nope, not Ken. Wanted off, sod everyone else.

I tried to be a bit more diplomatic with my post - but basically agree with this  :-X

This absolutley stinks. Tonight has proved we don’t have the depth - not even close.

Is this to Norwich, Baggie79?

I saw some hopeful/wishful Norwich fans on twitter tagging their club asking if they were in for Ajayi or not a few weeks ago, but not seen any solid links about it?

I know we struggled in general tonight with mostly kids on the field, but my god... the moment the first goal went in this guy could not look any more disinterested, seemed to be almost stationary for the remainder of the game and as a result we lost any chance of an out ball for the rest of the game unfortunatley which just invited more of the pressure that was already going to be coming from Arsenal.

He's been given plenty of chances to prove he gives a hoot about getting into the team and seems to have let them all slip away.

I will add that I do not like to see any of our own players being booed by some of our fans, But I was not surprised to hear a few when he was finally subbed off...

We obviously won't have paid all the alleged add on fees for him given his poor record with us, but even the upfront money we paid seems too much and we're now lumbered with him for another year or two I think? unless we manage to pull the wool over a club's eyes to buy him.

Have also been to the games mate and I did not join in with the captain fantastico nonsense - the moment a new midfielder comes in, Livermore is the first one out of the starting XI IMO - just depends if he has sucked up to the manager enough in the meantime on whether it's an immediate swap from Val's point of view.

Has been excellent in the first 4 games of the season, formed a good partnership with Mowatt, and looks as fit as anyone in the squad.
In the "incoming transfer" topics, always references to "need to improve on Livermore",
well i have news for those of that particular persuasion, with our miserly budget,
it ay gunna appen.
Keep it up Captain Fantastico  :)

Not sure what games you've been watching, still the weakest link in the chain for me, the amount of times Mowatt is battling against 2 players in the middle with Livermore nowhere to be seen is frustrating.

1 luckily well timed desperate lunge against Blackburn doesnt make the rest of his performances any better.

I’m glad Dan (the one born in 87 and not in the bygone days of yore like Smeth) pointed out what the tick box meant as I was left totally stumped.

I clicked it just encase it failed to let me proceed.

Albion surely have to pursue a new system - this is awful.

it is pretty poor right now, can only hope they nail down how to use it properly once it's bedded in (we can cling to hope)

I qualify for a freebie as I didn't ask for a refund on my ST but when going into my account the Arsenal ticket is there and showing in green print "already printed for Frank ------ " but nothing about added to my style card. All of which makes me think a paper ticket is liable to turn up in the post.

"Go to Your Account" > "Tickets" > Scroll to Arsenal game and then look in the bottom right corner of the Arsenal ticket info to find where it says "file xxxxx" and click it to access the order summary > scroll to the bottom and it will say "Delivery Method: Load onto Season Card" along with Delivery Status: 1/1 loaded if relevant.

If it says something different there then it;s not loaded on your card and may either be printed out, or not processed yet.

(Have put a couple of picture attachments below)

The coaches are trying to run as they used to and trying to keep the regulars on their usual coaches, so if your daughter is a regular on a particular coach you should be able to get a seat on the same one.

Hmm we use the coaches semi regularly so im not sure we'll be able to get a "specific coach we always use", normally I just make sure a coach has enough spaces for us to both get on it. I guess i'll know for sure when the tickets arrive in a couple of days

Observations from me going through away ticket purchases today:

If you get to the ticket allocation screen and it wont let you allocate to a specific family/friend, refresh the page until it comes up to let you do it (so long as the person in question meets requirements for that day/time to purchase) - You have to persist, but it will eventually let you do it.

Peterborough was initially listed with no additional options (i.e. concession tickets, the ability to delete a single selection, etc) I had got through to the allocation screen when it kicked me out of the process entirely, then went back to the tickets page and saw Peterborough no longer listed, waited a few moments and refreshed the page to see it was now there again. Looked at tickets again and the "additional options" for concessions etc were all there this time - I believe they took it down momentarily to enable the relevant options before making it available again to us which is a bit amateur.

As already noted above, if you attempt to use a "saved card" for the transaction on the final page it will fail, you need to enter "new card" every time in order for it to authenticate and go through. Worth noting there is a tick box at the bottom of the card screen, But it is not marked out as to what the tickbox is for - I believe this is the "save card" box, leave it unticked if you do not want multiple instances of the same card on your "saved cards" section.

Coaches - You can no longer "select a coach" i.e. Coach A, Coach B etc etc. It's just "buy coach ticket" so that will be fun won't it on match day with a coach free for all, depending on what is stated on the actual coach ticket - hopefully i'm given the same coach as my Daughter if it is a pre-allocated one...

Lastly, You can only process one thing at a time i.e. tickets for one game, or tickets for coaches for one game only - if you attempt to purchase multiple tickets or coaches for multiple games at the same time, it has a hissy fit and wont do it. Makes for annoying purchasing when you need to go through it 4 times for 2 games and 2 coaches

What a shambles, how can you move games 14 days before. I bet there are people who have changed shifts at work for the Friday and already purchased train tickets

not booked any train tickets or anything like that, but did book the day off work for it - I think the galling part is that the KO time is just that bit later aswell, so makes no difference in terms of using public transport etc (still no way home basically) - Wish it was at 5.30pm instead of 8pm, but hey ho... you are correct though, making changes that late is a joke

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Express and Star Albion Reporter
« on: August 09, 2021, 02:08:43 AM »
Masi's coverage is generally pretty poor; particularly in comparison to people like Lepkowski & Wilson in the past or even John Percy right now who seems to have fingers in many of the pies accross the country; but if we're being honest here, Most of the problem is not down to Masi himself, he's just been thrown in after other departures and does not have the same links at the club (yet?) that others might have.

Add to that the clubs essentially hold all the cards when it comes to local media and if you are seen to be "stepping out of line" with your reporting enquiries then you can easily get cut off from access; which I believe this has happened up at places like Newcastle who criticised Mike Ashley in the past. Similar with Notts Forest, Southampton, Port Vale, Swindon etc - When the chairman decides they've seen enough negative local press they just ban the outlet (or radio station in some instances) from the stadium or from having any meaningful access.

All leads to boring coverage and generally no leverage to ask the hard questions unless they are backed by the stronger pressure of national media.

« on: August 05, 2021, 02:38:36 PM »
I do think if it's around the £17m-£18m being banded about then it's under the value that you'd be wanting for him under more favourable circumstances, But Anyone who still thinks we could get £30m+ for him in the current post-covid market is deluded.

I think £25m was the upper limit we might have got for him, anything above £20m is about right, HOWEVER that was before he threw his toys out the pram after Valerian's comments - After that the execs will have just gone "ffs, just accept a decent-ish offer" otherwise we'd just miss out totally on cashing in on a player AGAIN before losing them for tuppence or on a free later down the line.

Where do people see his best position this year? In the middle, wing, in the hole?

on the bench or at another club, will probably spend 90% of the season on the medical table anyway i'm sure.

Waste of wages

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Club or Country?
« on: July 08, 2021, 10:22:42 AM »
Albion 1st, then Country, though I must say, until the tournament itself starts I often find England games quite boring in qualifiers/friendlies and I feel barely invested enough to watch sometimes; ramps up though when a tournament starts and obviously making a run to a final on this occasion has been brilliant.

The last 18 months has honestly been very hard for me to stay interested in football as a whole. Outside of the Albion games I've barely watched any other games, perhaps this tournament and us finally going back to the grounds will restoke the general fire?

« on: July 08, 2021, 10:15:02 AM »
On the face of it, I'm very pleased we've gone with Valérien and given him a meaty contract, it says we're finally looking forward with a plan rather than reacting to the present.

Obviously now need to see if it works out for us, but I'm cautiously optimistic

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: 2021/22 Kit
« on: July 08, 2021, 10:10:50 AM »
Home kit looks "ok" from a distance, still "missing" a stripe though IMO. Don't like it close up at all, TLMS shouldn't be written into it, we have literally plastered religious nonsense (that for some reason became something we sing when we score) on to our shirt, Should be staying well away from that.

As for the orange and grey/orange and white pre season "leisure wear" stuff.... whoever signed that off clearly knows nothing about the club - we don't do orange, what's next? a claret and blue training kit?

Given that they've made it "limited edition" I can't help but feel someone in the marketing dept testing the water to see if they can ever sell anything with that colour. Hopefully no one buys it.

If you download that full image then the reflection or whatever it is to the right hand-side shows someone wearing a Zoopla idea where the pic was alleged to have been taken but that does impact it's credibility somewhat imo!

It's the graphics rubbish they put all on the inside of the stadium mate in the corridoors.

edit: as per Hunningtons reply above

There goes the captaincy then...

Some don't want to hear it but Allardyce is right, the red being harsh or not the "Livermore Lunge" has been a thing for a while now and we just can't afford it.

Only potential downside is that it could end up with the equally atrocious Ivanovic due to his past experience.

Wouldn't mind giving it O'Shea or Ajayi or something and see how they get on.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Sam Allardyce
« on: December 16, 2020, 06:26:22 PM »
Nothing like a good managerial drama to bring out the pants wetting.

From 1 to Pulis, Big Sam is about a 6 (Hodgson about a 5) - The fact of the matter is we have more chance of staying up with him than Bilic so let him get on with it. (and I say that as someone who really likes Bilic and what he's about)

Would I choose Sam? no, but it's No good looking pretty if you go down anyway is it?

Those of you saying it's a panic appointment with no direction need to engage your brains a bit beyond what has happened today (which has of course, been poorly handled given yesterdays result), The fact they appointed him straight away and we didn't faf about for 3-4-5 weeks means that it's been discussed for quite some time and it's not a snap decision.

Entertainment value dropping aside (that wont be anywhere near as bad as Pulis anyway) this is potentially better for us mid to long term - Sam has a chance to stabilise us which would mean we look more enticing to would be new owners sniffing about. The American consortium we were linked with are more likely to commit to a club showing that they are likely to be in the prem next season than not, we all know this.

This could very well be the first solid stepping stone to a Lai exit and we just need to see how things pan out over the next few weeks and months.

Will it be super entertaining? no. But nothing is more depressing than watching us get spanked every week which in the main is what has been happening so far this season.

Gutted for Slav
Gutted for the majority of fans
Gutted for the future of the club

I hate the premier league and what it has done to our club with every fibre of my body !

Thanks for some great days Slav, you deserved better !

I agree it's not a good feeling today with how Bilic been dumped, but you have to think bigger picture. If Sam comes in, on this alleged 6 month contract and stabilises us, then we look far more enticing to take a gamble on for a new owner. If this American consotium as an example wanted to buy in, they'd be more comfortable doing it if we look like we are more likely to stay in the league and Sam does offer that possibility - at the cost of entertainment of course in the short term (On a scale of 1 to Pulis, he's about a 6 so not nearly as bad).

6 month contract = easier to move him on if/when a new owner comes in and wants to stamp authority with a new manager in the off season.

Today does suck, but it could be the first stepping stone towards the exit of the egregious Lai.

You are a rarity. We have now employed the 2 biggest dinosaurs the game has seen. Great!

I actually think Allardyce is NOT in the dinosaur category and he CAN do a job - let's not forget he was the pioneer of data/stats analysis in the prem that is now used by every team up and down the land.

Will it be pretty? No Will it keep us up? quite possibly. If a takeover hinges on staying up is he a safer pair of hands? Almost certainly.

However the way the club have treated Bilic leaves a bitter taste in the mouth for all involved and Sam will have to start well to win a lot of people over I'm sure. (assuming he is confirmed)

Thank You Slaven! Wish you well for the future!

Phillips should never have been put in that position as it's clear he is not able to defend. That said, Ivanovic charging out like an idiot and not dealing with the ball contributed massively to that, Phillips thought he needed to slot in to CB to cover and that lead to the player being free to slot it in.

Put a proper LB in there Bilic!
