West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Jake Livermore

Livermore is awful. Slow, cumbersome and looks so uncomfortable with the ball at his feet. Runs around a lot but squanders possession too often. If Molumby can’t oust him then why on earth was he signed?

I’m no fan of Val ball and have concerns about us going forward. However to put things into perspective we have the same points after 8 games as we did under Bilic. We have a inferior squad now to what we had back then IMO. Any criticism at the moment should be directed at the board for such a pathetic transfer window.

He looks no better than HRK.

We lack quality all over the pitch. The sooner we sign a decent striker and replace Livermore for a footballer the better.

I can't see any obvious strengths or even any glimmer of one. He's a very poor player who's had one decent season in his career. He'll be back at Charlton within a couple of years.

We’ve been too nice for too long. Let’s ruffle a few feathers.

Circumstances...

When the COVID shut down hit we were 5 points clear of Leeds at the top of the Championship and Bielsa burnout was in full swing.

When Liverpool hit 7 at Palace in late December they had lost 1 game and were 4 points clear at the top of the Premier League and 8 points ahead of Machester City. Gomez and Matip followed VVD onto the treatment table and that was all she wrote...

Top 6 a good achievement? Top 6 is the absolute worst Ismael must deliver based on the other 23 teams in this division.

This is my concern for us. Playing such a high intensity with a wafer thin squad is a recipe for disaster.

I think clement played left back and kept him very quiet. May have been robbo.

Clement put in a couple of firm challenges early on. He didn’t fancy it after that.

Ajayi has pace to get us out of trouble. With a high line this is vital. Would be madness to let him go unless we get a silly offer.

Is it the club messing about or idle or fevered speculation from the click-bait sites?

I’d be very concerned if Hugill was one of our prime targets. If he’s the best we can come up with then I doubt we’ve tried very hard.

Having seen our back up options tonight I do wonder why we got rid of Harper and Edwards. Not great players but streets ahead of some of these.

Tulloch out injured in warm up. Gardner Hickman in.

An underwhelming signing of a journeyman with a poor record. He does give us a different option however so hopefully we can get something out of him. I doubt we’ll spend a penny of the Pereira money.

Great to see some of the kids get a run out but this highlights just how weak our squad really is.

With Sawyers gone some lad asked Nixon if we are looking for replacement he seems to think not as Val is impressed with a couple of youngsters for midfield positions. I’m happy with that but hope we can get striker in.

I’ve seen O’Shea and Ajayi mentioned for midfield slots. Let’s face it in this system you don’t need much technical ability. Kick it forward and chase it down.

Applied for quite a few events but got nothing sadly. I'll try in the next ballot.

Not great to watch but we’re ahead. Bartley looks very shaky and Livermore just useless.

The main difference for me is that VI sets out his teams to win. Pulis sets up his teams to try not to lose. Totally different mentality.

The squad is still threadbare and desperately needs additions. We cannot continue with this intensity unless we can rotate the squad.

It’s a blessing that’s he’s had an awful game today. Highlights how much we desperately need another striker.

Sounds like yet another Johnstone and Bartley mix up. These pair should never be in the same side.

Being widely reported now that Ramsdale to Gunners deal is off and Arsenal will turn to Sam Johnstone.

Just reading a quick Athletic write up on it and they say Blades want £35m!!!!!   Arsenal offering no more than £20m guaranteed with (i'm guessing) another 5m or so in add ons but Blades want £35m no less. Says Arsenal have had 2 firm bids rejected now including yesterdays so they are moving on.

Perhaps Ramsdale could publicly state that he wants to leave and that Arsenal are offering him a life changing sum of money. He could then go for half of his value.  ;D

Newcastle signing Willock for more than £20m, MP is way better.

Since that stuff that came out about MP in the last window about it possibly being for some cash then some 'other' cash *ahem*.  Makes me wonder if we're getting the full story this time.

In a strange kind of way I hope that we have done a 'Dodgy deal'. If so at least the owners will have recognized MP's true value.

Unless we bring in another 3/4 players then I fear we may end up like Leeds and run out of steam. Val talks about rotation but we have very little to rotate with at the moment!

If his only options became West Ham at £60k per week or stay with us he’d have moved to West Ham. Regardless of what Al Hilal offered we should have stood our ground.
