Apparently Wilder was done a few weeks ago according to ITK, then Wagner was virtually there, so excuse my lack of excitement  :(

This one's a Plan D or whatever it is.

Never wanted Wilder. Wanted Lampard for his pull and influence and he's not a bad coach at all. Wagner - no ta. And Appleton was a no no.

This bloke sits on the fence for me. I hope he does well but immensely more importantly I hope our pathetic owners and board actually back him in the transfer market. A decent forward wouldn't go amiss...

Ahhh, you say that, but we haven't reached 150 pages yet.

So why don't we post more speculative stuff here to get the deal over the line?

That's just a rewrite of the football insider article yesterday. Would take it with a pinch of salt. Surely will be announced today? ???
Ah good, I was really busy yesterday and missed all the gossip. Apologies for repeating old rubbish.

A Twitter account reporting deal could be dead as Barnsley refusing to accept the terms  :o :o P.S  don’t shoot the messenger ! PPS at about the same time Madeley tweeting Ishmael in the final throes of completing his move , again don’t shoot the messenger !

It's just scattergun, chuck enough muck at the wall, some will stick. Pretty sure Barnsley have already agreed, it will just be the bureaucrats slowing things down, I reckon.

Ye gods, can Albion drag this process out any further? Some glaciers (if there are any left) can move more quickly than this.

I did state last week, that this page would go 150 pages, at this rate I might have underestimated it !

This is what people mean when they say we're cheap. Our business, be it managerial appointments or player transfers takes an inordinately long time compared to literally everyone else (Spurs aside) and it can only be to do with the financial aspect of the deals.

If it was just our club I would be slagging the powers that be off but, there are other clubs in the same boat as us (Spurs, Palace, Everton, Bournemouth and possibly Fulham).  It seems a strange time in the managers job front this summer.

Have we sacked him yet? This one is lasting longer than the average appointment?

Tend to think this one's political, this appointment is clearly Lai's & he wouldn't want to be seen as anything other than a "bloody difficult man".

Does make you wonder though how he overpaid for the club in the first place?

Only Albion can cause the same high levels of stress when not actually playing.

I'm struggling to see how that's the best way to inspire your (hopefully) incoming new manager!

Couple of the twitter ITK's (*ahem*) reporting that it's all done, and he has signed a 4-year contract.

We shall see

Have a look when they posted it and then compare it to when Falk from Bild said it. I expect they are copying him.

I get that, but I was mainly referring to the alleged compensation negotiations, between WBA & Barnsley.

Most the ITK sit on news now and on Twitter searching for WBA and just throw out the same stuff then delete when it don’t happen.

Yeah and just imagine the meltdown if Bournemouth or Fulham nip in and pinch him.

We don't arf fanny around.   :o

Not going to be good for team morale if we don't have a manager in place by the start of pre-season training although the first week will be doing all the checks and some lightish stuff I suppose.

Presumably with Covid there's no pre-season trip?

4 year deal and the 2 million compo makes it an expensive deal for the club. Really hope he does well for us, if he doesn’t I can’t see us getting rid easily!

Glad to see us give a go to an up and coming coach rather than the same old names.
