Noticed yesterday that they were doing house to house testing in Selly Oak which would have a big student population so guessing these stats have come from same scenario but different areas , Edgbaston ? Etc

Also reported yesterday that the people delivering the test kits had delivered 25 or so kits that had already been used  :o
No wonder the number is so high when the virus is potentially being delivered to your door

Birmingham and Sandwell cant be far behind tier 3 with the latest figures. Student areas of Birmingham now well over 800 people per 100,000.

Having viewed the Govt website, the Sandwell 7 day average last week was 64.9..

Hardly warrants being in tier 2 let alone tier 3.

The important number is infections per 100k of population this is what govt works off both here and for its air corridors , Sandwell currently has 144 /100000 and Dudley 96/100000

Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson is 'demanding answers' after Lancashire gyms will be allowed to remain open despite joining Liverpool city region in Tier 3 lockdown.

It has been reported that a deal was made between the local politicians in Lancashire and the Government to be put on the high level restrictions without the gym closures imposed on Merseyside.

It's all going to end in tears and one big NATIONAL LOCKDOWN

Can't see people standing for such a nonsense myself. Social compliance has been tested but more and more people are getting fed up of the over-reaction on a daily basis.

Anderson is a joke. Chippy Tits as he is unaffectionately known has been asking for a full lockdown for weeks prior to Liverpool going tier 3. Then it happens and he's ******* and moaning about it to anyone who will listen.

Because there should be lockdown with financial support.  It's possible to want lockdown SO LONG as you get decent financial support for those businesses.  Then explain why gyms are closed in Liverpool but not Lancashire?  Does the virus spread less in Lancs?

Don’t understand this ‘agreed to enter tier 3 ‘ surely there should be no choice . But ALL councils in the same tier should be under the SAME restrictions.

Patrick Vallance just effectively said Burnham was costing people their lives on national television. Not sure where we go from there...  :o

Can understand Burnham’s frustrations when Vallance, Whitty, Van Tam and Harries have stated the PMs tier measures will not work..

The whole business is a shambles, even scientists contradict each other. I honestly don’t believe that the government have a clue what they are doing but having said that, I also think that Andy Burnham pompous *****.

DONT MAKE ME LOFF

Police are being granted access to the details of people told to self-isolate by the government's Test and Trace scheme, Sky News has learnt.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) confirmed it had "agreed a memorandum of understanding with the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC)" to provide forces with the information on a "case-by-case basis".

In a statement, a spokesman told Sky News: "It is a legal requirement for people who have tested positive for COVID-19 and their close contacts to self-isolate when formally notified to do so.

"The DHSC has agreed a memorandum of understanding with the NPCC to enable police forces to have access on a case-by-case basis to information that enables them to know if a specific individual has been notified to self-isolate.

"The memorandum of understanding ensures that information is shared with appropriate safeguards and in accordance with the law. No testing or health data is shared in this process."

Not exactly going to encourage people to download the app.

This has got nothing to do with the app, it is merely knowing who in your area is required to self isolate after giving it large in Ibiza... you will be amazed at the amount of folk who think that self isolation does not apply to them
