Manchester European double?
Looking good for an all English final in both competitions.
Instead of travelling to Istanbul and Gdansk they may as well play the finals at Wembley due to current circumstances if this comes about.

I'm hoping Villarreal win the Europa League - anyone but the breakaway 12 really.

Thoroughly entertaining German Cup Final, Borussia Dortmund beating a good Leipzig side 4-1. Sancho and Haaland both scored twice. Haaland is an absolute beast. Physical power and close control.

All a bit routine celebrations for Bayern's championship. Robert Lewandowski beats Gerd Muller's old scoring record for goals in a season. Werder Bremen relegated from Bundesliga.

The more interesting element of the story, for me, is the Chinese owners refusal to finance the League Champions

They want 80m euros of player sales this summer as over 600m in debt.

They'd get that for Romelu.

Yep but Conte wanted more money, not to sell anyone so he negotiated a payoff. Great work if you can get it.

They paid £66m for him two years ago why would anyone pay more? Lukaku's market value peaked when Man U bought him at that stage there was enough future potential to justify the fee. The only thing that would inflate the fee would be a market that was inflating generally this market is deflating. If everyone is selling into the £80m plus market at the same time it rapidly becomes the £60m plus market.

Happy to see Villareal win it. They've never really won much in their history so to win that is a big deal. Greedy Man Utd on the other hand...

A really good game. Villarreal edged it with better ability, substitutions at the right times, and real team fighting for each other. Good refereeing ..var when needed, and a good penalty shootout. United player’s removing their medals upon being receiving them was disgraceful. I’m so delighted another club has something to celebrate.

Never seen such an excellent set of pens until De Gea missed his.
Ah well Man United lose. Couldn't have happened to a more humble, modest group of fans.  :D

The losing team removing their medals is a fairly common occurrence in finals.

Great to see United lose though.

Somewhat re-assuring that money big bucks don't always win.  And they can afford to sign players like Donny van der Beek, one of the best players in Europe, and don't play him over 120 minutes. Almost as if they sign players just to prevent others having them.

Cant be done with European football to be honest but I cant resist the opportunity to xxxx on any of the "elite" global clubs and their plastic armchair followers (they ain't fans).

Well done Villarreal. One for real football clubs.

FIFA probably already thinking through ideas to make sure the likes of Villarreal never win again.

The UEFA Competitions Committee has decided to abolish the away goal rule in the Champions League and Europa League.

The executive committee must now approve the plans.
