Not gone yet, he's been given squad number 12
If it was easy, it wouldn't be Albion

Tell us which clubs want to buy MP for the amount you would like us to get.

I think in the current market, at least £25 million is the going rate. If we actually waited a couple of weeks to see how things pan out then we'll see. The sales of Grealish and Kane haven't even happened yet so the cogs haven't begun to turn properly in the UK.

Thing is, has the club made a statement stating they want however much for this player?
Forget this & that articles that any media could write as being ITK.
It's all made up stuff.
In business if you make 5% profit after tax and put something aside for a rainy day that's great.
The club allegedly will make & 11 million and get the 8 million outlay back if it's  a 17 million sale, what more do you guys want?
It's business guys and to my mind exceptionally good business, you try making big profits with your own money then you might have a different opinion
Also got rid of a potential bad apple cmon get into the real world not fantasy island stuff

But nobody will offer him £135k a week tax free, he would get half that at best in the premier league then be taxed on it too.

The moment he made clear his motivation, all other clubs were wasting their time, he is going for the money and that leaves a field of one club prepared to buy him.

I don't think anybody HAS offered him £135k a week tax free.

Well spotted I thought it wouldn't take you long.
17 - 8 = 9 right?
So let's hope we can have that 17 million to spend eh?
That's not too shabby a sum to go shopping with is it?
1 CF please plus Okay?

One of the journalists said he was being offered £135k a week from Al-hihal.

As far as i know they still dont pay tax in saudi either (i know they never used too)

Athletic said today he's picking up £80k per week after tax, 3 year deal

I just hope he can get a couple of sponsorship deals to top things up, its an insult expecting somebody to survive on £80k a week!

It's shocking how much they have to struggle isn't it.

Kind of hard to give a toss for the modern day player....

Grealish has gone now for £100m so that gives some perspective to the current market. So on those figres he's 5 times a better player than Pereira, which obvioulsy doesn't make sense.  If Pereira is not underpriced,  then Man City must have lost it altogether. In reality, I think its a bit of both.

The trouble is, when we are trying to recruit new players, we have to rely on other clubs offering their players on the cheap.

2 things to note
1, Grealish has played in the premier league for a few years, so he knows it
MP, has only played a few months and has no prior experience of that league
2, Grealish is a full international with experience of euros
MP, has not played for his country and has limited euro experience
That's why he's more expensive
I'm just putting my opinion that's all

That's not how it works though and never has done. Townsend was bought for £700k whilst Bartley was bought for £7 million. He's not 10 times better than Townsend. Bartley was more established though and if you're at the top of the food chain like City, you will always pay much more.
It's like wanting a Ferrari. They're not 10 X better than most cars in terms of performance but may be a bit better. Nonetheless the market still prices them far higher as the wealthy will pay it.

The most comparisable player to Pereira is Buendia - not Grealish and he cost £35 million.

Bartley cost £4m not £7m if I remember correctly.

Sad to see him go but glad the deal is done.
VI will know how much he has to spend (if anything) to get a decent striker in.

An unfortunate side-note to this, is I have noticed how anti-WBA Lepkowski is. Or is he looking for the Saudi dollar as well? He said he'd done some media work for a channel over there on this mess.

I've just gone through his last 2 days of stuff and saw nothing anti Albion.

I think he tries to be neutral on the emotional side and just factual. Like fans saying we shouldn't sell under £40m... Well no-one is bidding that. So do we double our money on MP and move on, or keep someone unhappy and not that well suited to the new style of play (granted, if he was happy here we'd find a way).

Way too many people think keeping/selling players is like a game.
Whenever things look bad, remember the Port Vale, Grimsby and Walsall days... not so bad now, eh?!

The thing is once wages of a reported £8m a year are muted you know we have no chance of keeping him.
Personally I thank him for lighting up some dismal Saturdays, wish him well and lets get the next one in.
Our status see's us an a mere stepping stone for managers and coaches alike.
We could unearth the next Pereira tomorrow and before the end of the season a head turning bid comes in, and its game over.
If VI set's the Championship alight he'll probably be subject to a big job offer.
Only constant at West Brom is us, the fans.
