They've got two huge games that will decide it, Leicester away and Leeds away last game of the season. If they pipped either of those two to an automatic slot can you imagine how deflated Leicester or Leeds could be going into the play offs.
Agreed. I’ve said it all along.
Do you mean get rid of arguably the most successful England manager apart from Sir Alf?
I say give him until after the Euros, if he doesnt win it, then part company with him.
With this group of players he shpuld win it.
Trouble is he must sort out the central defenders partnership, and gk.
If he can get thst sorted we should win it.
i very much doubt it, hes got too many favourites. harry Maguire etc. hopefully its Southgates last tournament
Doubt it. If the likes of Foden/Saka/Bellingham look ordinary for England then so will he.
It’s true, but the form of some of our more fringe players under him is frighteningly good.
Thankfully Palmer is making it nigh on impossible not to take him.
Luckily, a lot of his favourites like Phillips and Rashford are in terrible form so he will have a job on to justify selecting them if he does
I mean he can pick up to start with. But Southgate disappoints for me with how he uses our talent.
Is 9 the new ten ?
Seven in the league last season and two in the FA Cup. His only other double figure season came at Salford in League Two 2021-2022 with 11 in 39 plus two in the EFL Trophy.
Whilst trying to avoid fate a Manager of the Year award and those numbers have all the hallmarks of heartache in the Playoffs if they don't make the autos.
Weimann's stand out goal returns season was 21/22. 22 goals and 10 assists from RW and AM. Other than that nothing spectacular. BTA only has two seasons where he's reached double figures in the league too and this is one of them.
BTA is a one-man front line of defence. He presses for two men.
He gets the odd goal too. Maybe if he wasn't considered the only striker the pressure would be off him.
Ultimately we’ll never know, all we can go by is the stats from this season as he has played a whole lot of games in the goal scoring position to be only 3 goals more than Swift, five more than Grady and MJ etc.
The eyes don’t lie, his ability, or lack thereof is clear for anyone with footballing knowledge to see, the ball bounces off him frequently, misplaces pass after pass, misses easy chances for fun.
His record is proof of this, he's only once got more than 10 goals in a season during his career.
