West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Mikey Johnston joins on loan (Official!)

I thought he played well, i would say him and Kipre our best players on the night. Every time he received the ball he turned and ran at them at speed, appears to keep the ball well. Fair enough his end product could’ve been better a few times but which of our wingers could you not say that about? When him and Wallace went off we had nothing at all going forward.

Feel we could’ve left Fellows back alongside Townsend.

Molumby also should’ve taken out Iheanacho - surprised he didn’t

Do think it was naive as a point would’ve been a good result

Amazing news! If I had to watch Furlong for much longer I fear my head was going to explode out of frustration. Say what you want about our business this summer but the combined joy of never/rarely having to watch Livermore and Furlong again constitutes a great transfer window for me.

Great news. But if this was all just speculation and never going to happen etc then why did he not play against Bolton?

He's clumsy, an accident waiting to happen.

Kipre is very assured with the ball at his feet for me, questionable defensively sure

Him and Kipre. With those two at the back it's going to be a painful season.

At least Kipre is good on the ball. Ajayi is petrified of it

No. That isn’t “bottling it”.  It’s you who doesn’t understand the term.  You’re simply saying “we didn’t win a game that we needed to win and therefore we bottled it”.  Utter nonsense.

I simply didn’t say that, I simply said we didn’t play with the level of urgency I would expect from a side with the possibility of being able to secure a top six place and therefore in my estimation we bottled it. Bottled it both with regards the final result and the lack of caution being thrown to the wind.

Please correct any more words/terms I have used that do not meet your definition though, I would hate to have been using them against the parameters you have taken it upon yourself to be custodian of

If Blackburn get no more than a single point against both Burnley and Luton along with a Millwall defeat at Blackpool, we'd only need to win our two home games to guarantee 6th. Exciting run in but not overly confident with injuries.

Sunderland can get to 71points, so unless we win all three couldn’t guarantee play offs

Nope.  Beaten by a better side on the day is absolutely not “bottling it”.  We gave 100%, showed urgency and could not have done more.  If you consider that “bottling it” then I guess you’ll use that term after every defeat.

We weren’t beaten by Man City. We bottled it by not showing more urgency to win the game against a side we should be beating given relative squad quality. Not too difficult to understand

Nope.  Not bottled it at all. We were obviously watching a different game.  We were outplayed but certainly didn’t bottle it.

In our own hands to make it into the top 6 at home against a team promoted last year with a list of injuries as long as ours and we lose. Not only lose but lose deservedly. I would call that bottling it.

Exactly! They couldn't care less about the Albion in the long run. Was about to say something similar, and I believe Mick McCarthy sort of alluded to it. Very average footballers at best thanks to terrible decisions by the club over the last 5 or 6 years....and all of them will never have to worry about the gas bill in their long and happy retirements.  >:(

The word Mick used for the players who have been at the club too long was apathetic, he’s spot on. Fans are heading that way too and who can blame us.

Best of luck Carlos, you will need it. Hope you suss out Livermore Furlong and Grant for their overwhelming deficiencies sharpish.

Phillips by a distance our best player, will go missing again for six months now.

"Chance is for other people to decide, all I can do is try to draw on my experience of tough times before," Bruce added.

Unfortunate choice of wording from a manager who has overseen a 64% draw rate this season and has shown no semblance of an idea of how to convert those draws in to wins

What do you put our chances at of a clean sheet today with Conor Townsend & O'Shea v Joe Piroe? I'd say no more than 20%.

At least they won’t serve him one up on a plate/basically score one for him like Bartley likely would’ve

Played very well second half. They put everyone behind the ball, took off all their attacking players and we couldn’t break them down.

Made it hard for ourselves conceding 2 first half but to be fair the first was unstoppable. O’Shea should’ve done far better second.

Replace Grant and Furlong and we will be comfortably top 6, possibly top 2.

ALSO that was a stonewall penalty on Grant. Absolute shocker from the ref

I remember them all so well. I imagine they were extremely rousing and inspired us to go out there and avoid being relegated regularly

So rousing that they led to him going out there and mauling someone getting himself a red card

Depressing to think I’ve watched him play 200 games. Hopefully not many more.

I thought they were supposed to be stopping the blatant time wasting cheating this year?! Apparently not. Embarrassing from Blackburn. Ball has been in open play for about five minutes this half

Would take Furlong and Livermore off for Garden Hickman and Okay. i.e. two shocking footballers off for two who are better but inexplicably sitting on the bench i.e. the team that should have started!!!

Best we have played in a very long time that. In fact I can’t recall the last time we played well for 90 minutes and finished as clearly the better side. Couldve and shouldve  won the match clearly. Grant has to take at least another one of those chances.

Yokuslu in ten minutes showed he is 1,000 times the player Livermore is. Also thought Molumby played very well today.

Wallace is absolute class

Very pleased with the performance. Not a bad result but given the dominance we showed we really should’ve won. Really hope we can play like that consistently - was a pleasure to watch for once

We will be a significantly better side when Okay is back, and Dike is starting. Not too bad second half but Bruce has to sort his selections out AND BUY A NEW RIGHT BACK FFS!!!
