They are there for a team to win and we should be at least reaching the stage where we take them serious. Fans tend to see them as a distraction but how long does that tag last for? Especially with our resources. I thought 2008 was the perfect year for us to win the cup and had we beaten Pompey I'm fairly certain we'd of beat Cardiff in the final.
If the draw is lucky for us, and the bigger clubs are knocked out early then in my opinion, we have a very good chance. We also must use the cups as a source for progression for the trio of Scott Allan, Craig Dawson and George Thorne, mixing those three amongst our better players would be suitable in my opinion. Hopefully that will spell the end of wholsesale changes in cup competitions. Of course, that all depends on whether they're at the club.
