The answer is quite simple mate, Cough up the cash needed  Foster cost us £6m 2 years ago he is a far better keeper now.

so the question has to be can Albion afford him ?

Not quite as easy as that. We'll give you an offer to tempt you, see whether Pannu can resist it. If we're going to buy him, in my opinion, it will be £6million or less.

Considering your financial situation, you aren't really in the best of places for negotiating particularly as I doubt Foster will want to be playing championship football next season and you seemingly wouldn't be able to afford his wages.

Add to that he only has one year left on his contract, I can't see us having/being willing to pay more than 6 Million maximum.

He is a better keeper now down to the superior coaching he's had at a premiership club.

Couple the fact that his parent club is skint ........AND............he loves the Baggies ;)
I think we can afford him!

One year left on his contract, £6 million tops, yes we can afford him, Premier League us!  ;D

No offence matey but your chairman is not known for his spending is he. and if its true QPR and Tottenham are after Foster then i suspect it will more than £6m.

And the fact he has always made it known he wants to continue living in the Midlands. Albion and Villa are the only choices he has if he wants to continue playing in the Premier League.

Our chairman is not known for over spending you mean.

We bought Shane Long for £4million last summer so that puts an end to that argument really. Added that to the Premier League wages we're now paying..

Small Heath wont be able to afford Foster or anyonelse's wages soon so we should get him and Hughton for say £4million. I bet you wish you had a chairman like ours? :P

I'd have Foster in a heartbeat.

He's on his last season at Brum and they're still in the Championship, I cant imagine we'd have to pay too much.

Sorry have i missed something what makes you think we won't be able to afford anyone wages soon ?

as for getting Hughton and Foster for £4m You couldn't get Butland for that.

As for your chairman having read this board in the past it seems not all baggies fans rate him as highly as you. :D

the Chairman is in hong kong, Carsen Yeung owns it , the debt according HSBC is less than £16m.  the club took out a debenture with HSBC  to protect it.

Yes we are in the championship. this after some of our fans thinking a 9th placed finish one season and winning the league cup the next made us a stable mid table prem club. sound familiar

Now looking at the Albions past you are just as likely to get relegated next season as you are of finishing 10th.

as Hodgson's reign has shown against our bogey teams. History ends eventually. Looking back we should have won the F.A. cup a lot more tines than we have.

Just face it mate, at this very moment in time your club is vulnerable, let us get our fill and we'll leave you alone. It's not exactly that you can hold us to ransom as Foster has placed you in a predicement in that he doesn't want to move  from the area. leaving only two teams in the area and one looking for a GK. Hughton can easily jump ship as he can reject a new contract and be a free agent be mid June. and you need to work off the debt somehow. Yeung's not going to pay so the club has to do it. we can very easily press you into a deal by putting money on the table.

Today we hold the cards, maybe the next cut will be in your favour but now it's time to cash in.

Maybe a tad arrogant, don't let us sound like the dingles, we've always had class in victory and defeat. Remember what goes around comes around ;)

trust me, i don't try to be. Like I said the cards may go in their favour in the future. But today we have the advantage as Bham cannot push us into anything under due circumstance and so we can cash in.

Blues might have an option for a further 2 years but they are not in a position to take it up because they cannot afford to pay the £1.5m in wages a year if they are still in the championship. Until the club publishes a set of accounts Blues fans should fear the worst and assume if it saleable it will be sold.

None of us have access to BCFC's account so i doubt anyone knows what they can or cannot afford. saying that Nikola Zigic is on £50K a week and we pay that. although i do sometimes wonder why..

The thing with Foster is he would be worth at least 15 points to Blues in the Championship. he does not want to move from the midlands he was happy at Blues.

so Blues have a choice sell him or take up the option pay him and play him and see where we are at the end of next season.
If thats in the prem then no problem if its not then he would still have 2 yrs left and we could still get £6m for him.

so yes it would cost us £1.5m but that is nothing to the revenue that would pour in if we got promoted.

The accounts are becoming a bit of a joke even though they are for 2010/2011 i do not expect it will be good news but then i do not think its all bad news.

The club at present is self sufficent.  Hughton won't have a lot to spend but as he proved last season he does not need a lot.

If Blues do have to sell then the obvious one to go would be Foster but i do not believe we will have to sell as we did the season before last.

It's about time JP hobbled over to St Andrews, got out his large wallet from his pocket and paid the ransom for Ben Foster.

We are even (allegedly) looking at Jussi Jaskellainen (Bolton - 37 years old).

Whilst he was there he could tell them that we won't be coming back for CH because we won't pay the compensation and whilst he was there he could throw in Boaz as a makeweight in the deal.

That should mean the Bluenoses glasses are still half full (just)   ::) ::)

Maybe he could take out a corporate box while hes there 66 so that we can keep tabs on all their players and staff with a view to the future.

Just reading a couple of reports (probably bored London journos trying to fill up space) that QPR and Tottenham showing some interest in Foster. Our trump card is that he says he really values his homelife and doesn't want to uproot from his Leamington home, so just hope he is not tempted into commuting down to London. OK on the map it looks straight forward, or if you are travelling in the middle of the night it is.  In reality, it is a hell of a slog every day. I travel from High Wycombe to west London every day and that is a hell of a slog. To Leamington you can add on another 80 miles. He'd be stuck in jams on the M25 most days, so that's 3 hours into work, and 3 hours to get home. If he's lucky!
I do't want to be patronising to Foster, but just hope he's aware of this in case Spurs or QPR try to talk him to commuting.
