I know Roy's tried to put the ball and chain on our players.

Would you be more confident going back to the gung-ho, no fear, russian roulette football?  I wouldn't but it's personal choice.

I think in the long run Roy's method of stealth is better and more professional.  But can our players carry it out for the rest of 2011/12?

Roy found, or stubbled across the winning formula at the end of last season.  We looked  aquality side in this division.  He's changed from a 4-5-1 that worked with our personel to a old fashioned 4-4-2 that doesnt suit our players.

We've gone backwards instead of building on the massive step he made last season from Di Matteos era.

i missed the game earlier, but from what i ve just seen on sky tonight i think we we're very unlucky...not a completely bad or utterly abject performance like some have said on here...just 2 mistakes then naively sucker punched twice!  we were much the better side and certainly didnt deserve to lose.  i think our desperation for a goal and a win today showed though...it really was the ultimate sucker punch!

i am a little worried about RH's selections and substitutions at times though...we shouldnt be playing both scharner and mulumbu in centre of midfield. morrison i think should partner mulumbu. he showed that he can play that role in centre midfield now better than out wide, and did well before.  thomas had a good game, but we're crying out for 1 or 2 more natural wide players...i think at times we ve been crying out for a bit of creativity out wide especially at home when we're struggling to break sides down.  if we actually see JP spend any money it should be a wide man!

as much as i'd like to see us play 4-5-1, and think our players suit that better, i think we should face it as long as RH is in charge we wont be playing that!....but i also think with the right additions we could be a good 4-4-2 side!

as for the substitutions... taking odemwingie off instead of cox!?? what was that all about?  cox actually did better once long came on, but he'd done absolute jack all game and should have been taken off! he's not good enough, quick enough, skillful enough to play premiership football. ok odemwingie is out of form and low on confidence but we shouldnt take him off when we need a goal...he showed at blackburn what he can do in a split second no matter how bad he is playing. show some faith in him!

i really cant see JP spending any money on any body...he never does in January.  i think we can forget craig gardner unless its a loan deal, and i would be surprised if we spent 2-3 million on Maynard.  but we are crying out for 3-4 new players!  i'd get a new left back in for sure...definitely another winger or two.  and a striker!  i wont hold my breath.

thomas going off injured didnt help! fortune didnt know where he was playing ruined shape.

wish player would start taking bookings for the team. we dont do enough proffessional fouls we had numerous oppotunities to stop both of their goal scoring attacks with cynical fouls and didnt!
other sides do it to us we should do it to them

There is no way you was at the game today, if you was you must have been inebriated up! Dawson 5 Pete 6, you are dreaming pal, Dawson played great today, PO didnt make  a correct decision, as soon as Long replaced him we looked a different team. Sell PO ASAP.

and we moan about players having no loyalty. "sell PO ASAP" that is so fickle.

If I hear the words "unfortunate" "unlucky" or the the old pearler "better team" leave RHs dour cake hole again I swear Im gonna...... Honestly I thought I'd heard some twaddle but to say we had tested Ruddy today, 3 shots wasn't it? Was embarrassing, no movement, no composure (penalty aside!) and the formation is WRONG and just why oh why for a 'negative' style manager can he not get the defense right? My mind boggles :-X

Trouble is we went attacking last season with RDM and would have got relegated no doubt without Roy's intervention.  With Mowbray - free headers went in every game.

I think we have our best coach for years.  I don't think the players are bright enough to be a success.  He was spoilt with Duff, Murphy, Dempsey, Zamora etc at Fulham a more CONFIDENT bunch as well as probably more talented.

I don't buy this would have got relegated "no doubt" stuff.  We were on a bad run but we were also suffering plenty of injuries and we'd had nothing from the chairman in Jan.  Roy took over just as our key players come back, it's an absolute unknown if we'd have stayed up or gone down with RDM in charge.  To say anything other than that is just confirmation bias.  What we do know is we're no better off at this point in time than we were under RDM.

I don't like the idea that our only two options are all out attack and conceding dozens of goals and what we're seeing now.  There has to be an inbetween and we showed it towards the end of last season.

Our players are good enough, we finished 11th last year.  Our problem this year is we've changed our approach to games and we're not really getting the best out of anyone.

Why do people base so much on what (boll....) the manager says after the game?

What Roy says to the media and what Roy says to the players are undoubtedly two very different things!

I'm amazed at the lengths some people will go to fit what the manager says into their view of things.

1) They agree with what Roy says. eg,  "Well.. Roy said he was happy with his squad."
2) They disagree with what Roy says.  eg, "Well.. that's just what Roy says to the press."

Cox was a million times worse but you have ago at Pete?  Amazing.
Selling Pete ASAP and leaving us with Long, MAF, Cox and Bednar as our strike force?  You've got to be kidding,

I give up, you're the sort of person who pick Kuyt over Suarez or Heskey over Agbonlahor. Hard-working mediocrity over actual class.

Odemwingie, tormented norwich for the first half an hour of the game hitting the bar in the process, some of his link up play fell short of the required standard. He was always finding space and always available to receive the ball, he was then wrongly substituted.

Compare this to Cox, who was anonymous in the first half, save for getting caught in possession leading to their goal, and missing the one chance we managed to carve out for him (natural goalscorer/best finisher in the club... yeah yeah yeah). In the second half I don't think he had a shot, Thomas then got injured and he got shunted out wide, how Hodgson must have wished PO was still on the pitch...

I agree with this.  I'm sick of the abuse thrown at Odemwingie because he isn't scoring with every touch.  News flash, none of our players are scoring at the moment.  Mulumbu scored 7 or so last season, when was the last time he got in the box and had a shot?

Cox was dreadful today but Odemwingie is still the one getting the blame.  Criticise him when he's had a bad game but we shouldn't hang him when others were more guilty.

well i wasnt at the game today, and have only just got back from hols, but i had an inkling it was going to be one of those days whilst watching match of the day, unaware of the results, when wolves drew/blackburn won etc.... seems like we got lucky at carrow road, and they got lucky here. fair and square really, though it is incredibly concerning when we have only won 2 games at home all season, and im starting to look at our home games and putting them down as away wins at the moment. real low, no brunt or gera, not really looking like scoring, where do we go from here when the bottom 3 are picking up points? :(
Albion till i die, blue and white, the wolves are most definitely shite!

I just don't understand why we were playing balls in the air and not playing it along the ball with the pace of our strikers.

Bizarre ratings on her. Very questionable. I know its about opinions but some of the ratings here are barmy!

Motm was Thomas today.

Pete in the first half was very dangerous and cant understand why he was taken off and not Cox who did nothing.

Jara didnt look out of place and Dawson was also very promising.
I agree with you fully about Thomas and Podem. I think the reason roy didnt take cox off was becuase he wanted to give him a chance at a whole game, and i'd say his last chance to prove himself.

I haven't been a regular since 06/07 and today we were shocking. The Smethwick is a myth, so is the bomber squad. We really need to up the ante at home games
