Possibly. They said he would get match fit over international break so I'd expect to see him on the bench IMO. 4-2-3-1 formation please. 442 not working IMO.

Hodgson has two options here:

1) Drop a striker to make it 4-5-1 again
2) Stick with 4-4-2 but drop Scharner from the midfield (nothing against Scharner but out of him or Mulumbu to be dropped it has to be him) and play an attacking midfielder in his place (Dorrans being the obvious choice).

If today's game taught us anything it's that Mulumbu and Scharner as the two central midfielders in a 4-4-2 just doesn't work, it offers little or no creativity. Mulumbu and Scharner are excellent defensive midfielders, top draw, but they aren't playmakers (they aren't supposed to be), they aren't going to create things and make things happen which is what we need in the centre.

Another thing is that Morrison has had enough chances now. Bar the occasional flash or brilliance he was mediocre last season, he did little against Man U and Chelsea and did very little today. He has to be dropped, if Hodgson doesn't drop him then I'll really start doubting him. Thomas has to start in Morrison's place, he'll give us proper width and will take men on (unlike Jimmy Mowbray). If not Thomas then Dorrans or Tchoyi (moved back to the wing).

My team (assuming Odemwingie is still out):

                                       Foster

Reid                  Tamas                    Olsson                 Shorey

Brunt               Scharner                Mulumbu               Thomas

                                     Dorrans

                                       Long

Subs: Fulop, Dawson, Jones, Tchoyi, Morrison, Cox, Fortune

Spot on mate. Only change, id leave fortune out in place of Gera.

Watching them on MOTD against Chelsea they seem a decent outfit, but they so seem quite weak at the back. With their first choice goalkeeper being out as well this is a game we really should be looking to win.
Ohhhhh Albion we love you!

EXACTLY !!!!

Deluded people seem to think if we put an extra striker up there to make it 4-4-2 we will score more goals and be fantastic.

Play to your strengths and our strength is midfield. If that is the team above for Norwich away we will win comfortably. Our problem at the moment is no creativity in the middle of the park because Mulumbu and Scharner are both ball winners and no width out wide. Put thomas there okay hes been injured but we need creativity behind the striker. If Long is doing well then Odemwingie is on the bench and he will have to lump it. He  wanted competition, now hes got it.

Hes done well, but he hasn't scored, and I want to see Cox given a go. I don't think he's been 'stand out' to be honest.

Oh yeah, forgot Gera could be back for this one. I agree, if he's fit enough but Gera on the bench to replace Fortune.

Dropping a player as dangerous as Tchoyi is always a hard thing to do, but I think that Dorrans would offer more consistently over 90 minutes as well as defensive capabilities. See Tchoyi as more a super-sub.

Remember Dean Kiely making a great save off Dion Dublin I think it was seconds after we scored at their place. Think we won 2-1 or 3-2. Think Kamara scored very late on, and literally seconds after the restart Kiely made a one handed save to deny a Dublin header.
