How do we know he's better than Bond?  Whenever I've seen Lonergan play he's not actually been any good.  This seems like a crazy signing.

Maybe Johnstone can take a bit from his experience. If Bond is going it's wise with Covid and all. Don't really have much of an issue with this. Bond, Lonergan...both very unlikely to play.

MASI

"As per below, understand Albion are close to signing Andy Lonergan to bolster the goalkeeping department. He hasn't signed yet. But will soon, possibly tomorrow. Highly likely one of Button or Bond (not Johnstone before anyone panics) will be moving on... #wba"

Wasn't remotely panicking and would welcome the injection into the coffers...

Considering the response of our fans can only imagine the total meltdown on Liverpool's forums when he joined them

Lonergan has been a guest on Undr the Cosh. Comes across as a decent enough pro and I think has nearly signed for us before.

I think in his interview he said in hindsight he should have thrown his toys out the pran for the good of his career to come to us.

If it’s a cheep swap with bond for number three I don’t see an issue.

Most now accept he’s massively improved and would be a major loss. I’ve eaten my dose of humble pie.

Don't think it's that hard to get heads around personally.  Bond is leaving and  Andy Lonergan is joining.

I'm hoping for a dose of vaccine at some point. As for humble pie I'm not hungry. In the meantime I think it's genuinely great Sam's currently doing the basics on a more consistent basis. More of the same please lad.

YEah id imagine Bond was on around 8-10k per week with his flex up. Longergans probably less than 5k
