West Ham - then he fell out with Billic.

He moved back to France and terminated his contracts with two clubs. Think it was Marseille and Lille
Who was he playing for when he got sent off at our place, was that West Ham?

I remember this well, we were about 6-0 up at the time weren't we? And a clogger centre back did that. I remember a Bluenose mate was astounded by it.

The other one that springs to mind is Pereira this season, I think against Forest where the ball was on the deck on the halfway line and their player closed him down and he dinked it all the way over him - it landed about 1 foot from where it started but had gone over their blokes head and beaten him.

You don't remember it that well, it was the first goal...

Phillips audacious chip from just inside box against Barnsley in that 7 nil stuffing, best goal he scored for us.

This didn't happen, he scored a tap in, a 25 yarder low into the bottom corner and a toe poke from just inside the box from a Gera pass.

Think this may have been against Scunthorpe to satisfy Jacko or there was one against QPR as well

Maybe not best, but most unexpected was the combination of Ishmael Miller's backheel on the goaline and Jonas Olsson's following cross from the left wing on the break for Somen Tchoyi's hat-trick to draw level with 20 seconds remaining after being 0-3 down against Newcastle on the final day of 2010/11.

Everything about that pointless game was mind-blowing, including Carson's amazing fumble over the line (takes a real pro to do that so well) and Olsson's prior own-goal. It was against Pardew as well.
talking about Miller, remember that goal he scored when he fell over (I think) and the ball went about 100 foot in the air and then somehow ended up in the goal. I know it was at the hawthorns as me and the man sat behind me had just started calling his a useless sod n then he scored. Think it was his first season?

As the title says.

For me the best piece of skill I can remember was Gera away at Norwich. Sadly I can't find a clip of it - I think it was our Great Escape season or maybe the season after and he flicked the ball over the opponents head like it was nothing.

I know Koumas was skilled but that was more in a dribbling sense, I'm specifically on about little bits of flair.

Gera is my all-time favourite player. Not just for his incredible skill, but that in combination with his endeavour and humility.

Just done a quick check - got a red card for pushing Brunt in the face.

He came on as a sub and only lasted 9 mins

I don’t remember the game tbh

There was no skill greater that Alan Irvine’s interview

Christ I'd forgottenthis gem. And to think there is a thread solely dedicated to moaning about the guy who rescued us.

Koumas against Forest, 2003/4.

One of the best goals I've ever seen at WBA
If it was easy, it wouldn't be Albion

I was going to mention McShane but somebody already got there first!

How about Greenings first touch at Highbury before crossing the ball for Earnshaw, that was some first touch.

It was made far better by the fact that purse had literally just sliced a bread and butter clearance which looked to be sailing into the stands and greening made it into something
O Albion we love you

Gera’s sliding back heel to win us a corner against blues in the Great escape season from a nothing ball. Would prove to be a huge result come the end of the season. Magical player.

This one for me as well. Was waiting to see if somebody would put it (glad to have seen it a few times reading through).

It was the fact he bust his gut to get to the ball. It was the technique at the end of his sprint, with his momentum, to do a sliding back heel to keep it in. It was his determination to then get straight up and win the corner. It was the fact it resulted in a goal and a win, all of the back of his bloody mindedness. One of my favourite players ever in the blue and white.

Thank you. He's my favourite player too for the same reasons.

For those mentioning Phillips goal vs Scunthorpe, it's worth a watch on Youtube - all the goals we scored that day were incredible, including one from Craig Beattie!

Pereira's free kick v Bristol City.....it would have been all over the media if it was Messi. Takes guts as well as skill to even attempt that from the edge of the box.

I like pereria but honestly don’t see what’s so special about this free kick...thought the one at QPR was more difficult?
Must be me ...
