Masi has confirmed it now. Out of contract in summer and at 33 you would hope it's a small fee.

Cardiff fans glum at the prospect of losing him which is a positive (seen a few fans saying he has been best performer this season). Just the age thing really for me - quite old for a full back and no guarantee his form in a familiar set up at Cardiff would transfer to us.

Don't really know anything about this guy other than what the first two posters have said. You do need to look to players that can get us up and a bit of Championship nous and experience at the back is massively needed. Bit boring but maybe that's what we need at the back?!

Fans are funny. Saw online people saying it’s this seasons Tyron Mears. Mears was playing 2nd division football in the states and was 36. Peltier is 33 and played 25 champ games this year and 20 games in the prem last year....

Just had a cursory glance on his Wikipedia and he's actually had a decent career really!

Think this one depends on the Ferguson deal happening.

Thing is, we don’t need a world beater in every position. In some cases we just need to make sure we have competent cover. The club have been very clear that it is targeting signings to get us up. Fair play.

Feeling more positive about this move. Cardiff fans say he doesn't really get forward, but instead is just very solid at the back. Could be just what we need.

https://www.wba.co.uk/news/2020/january/albion-bring-in-utility-defender-peltier/

Albion have completed the deadline-day signing of Lee Peltier on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old utility defender arrived from Cardiff City on a free transfer in the final hours of transfer deadline day.

Lee will bolster Slaven Bilić’s defensive numbers with his capability to play across all positions in the back-line.

Sporting and Technical Director Luke Dowling said: “Lee will provide tough, proven experience and ‘know-how’ for us across a variety of roles in defence.

“He was a key figure in Neil Warnock’s team and knows what it takes to get promoted from this division.

“We felt we needed some cover and once we knew Lee would be available it made good sense to bring him in.”

Lee has made more than 150 appearances for Cardiff since 2015, including 20 in their Premier League campaign last season and 30 in their promotion-winning Championship campaign.

Apparently he tweeted he wasn’t leaving last Friday, but didn’t make the squad on Tuesday vs us. Signed for us on Friday.

He’s finished. Strange signing

Our intent to ensure we get promoted?

We don’t have to agree with every signing, especially mediocre / poor ones. It’s not TAA or nobody

As a back up hes pretty damn decent at this level you just need someone to come in and do a job. Ideal fit.
