Johnstone is still shakey on crosses and opts to punch or palm it away into danger areas.  His lack of ability when playing the ball forward isn't the greatest.  He's also quite imbobile and doesn't cover his goal well.  He's ok when a shot is fired pretty much straight at hime.  I'd still have him in the side ahead of Myhill though.

Amongst other things I'd drop J-Rod for Morrison or Hoolahan and push Barnes a bit further up.

The lack of thinking about our transfer window could now come back to bite us. We had nobody who would regard R/Has their natural position at the close of the window, no cover for Gibbs at L/B other than a slow ageing midfielder being the most obvious failings in recruitment. A couple of injuries and we are now going back to playing players out of position for a newly relegated team that is both surprising and disturbing as well as showing a complete lack of foresight .

Thing is we can see these issues with Johnstone so why is Neil Cutler not focusing on them ? If he is then its not helping him so far so is the coach not up to it ?

LM Brunt / Sako

CF Gayle / Rodriguez

If Gayle is not fit and he is simply replaced by Kanu, in a 352, then I really fear for 3 in a row.

I think it takes time to improve players, you'd hope they are working on all this stuff in training - not sure what else they could be doing.

I think I agree with this.

I'd possibly be looking at Hoolahan over Morrison however.

Hoolahan / Morrison rotating via substitutions is the way to go for me,
I also think one of the factors we are starting to see is the Championship schedule affecting our more aged players.

21,100 sold. 2,296 remaining.

Only 131 tickets sold throughout the day. Had we won last night I reckon we would've sold double that.

And the pressure builds for this game.

Moore needs to make a raft of changes and I think most notably the system. 433 or 4231 for this game.

I'd like to see a 4-2-3-1 for a few games certainly for the next 3, it's just the personnel that bothers me. Do we play Dawson at Rb and have Hegazi and Bartley in the middle or do we play Mears who is at least a right back and have Dawson with Bartley or Hegazi in the centre,: Gibbs, if fit, is a given at LB. If injured I'd be tempted to play Townsend rather than Brunt. Howkins is also an option. Brunt would be an emergency LB.

The two man midfield needs to be Livermore and one of Field, Harper, Barry, Hoolahan or Morrison.

The 3 in front needs to be made of Phillips, Edwards, Leko, Sako, Brunt, Burke competing for the wide roles and Barnes, Morrison, Hoolahan competing for the central role.

The striker role would be between Gayle, Rodriguez, Sako, HRK and Burke.

What that does show to me is that we have a number of players that can play in a couple of roles and bring something different to the other players vying for the same position.

Can't imagine anything is going to change...Wednesday will be put down as a one off...we will go again with the same formation..and I would imagine a very similar line up....

I can well imagine a pre-match team talk going along the lines of,
"we have had a couple of bad days at the office, thats going to happen, but cut out the individual errors and we would have got something from both games, so lads lets go again and get us back on track, Oh and Sam, you are back on the bench son."

DM seems to be in danger of taking his loyalty and faith in the incumbents too far, hope I am wrong and he shakes it up both tactically and personnel wise. I'm all for loyalty and consistency when its working, but ........

from wednesdays programme, penned by Graeme Jones
“My belief is that you have to keep your integrity, keep your focus. You have to play the way you believe. It has to be like that.

“We train every day to have the ball, we train every day to break people down. You have to stick with it, you have to master it.

Don't think we will see a change in system and Mowbray will be astute enough to plot a way through our powderpuff midfield and petrified back 4.
3 in a row.

Cheers Dan, does seem bloody daft (to me) not opening for an hour after night matches, while the euphoria (cough) could engender some sales.

That would mean opening from 21.50 until 22.50 (or thereabouts). If supporters struggle to get home on public transport straight after a game then it would be the same for staff leaving more than an hour after that.

I'm not sure how many people would be that interested in buying tickets after a night game anyway, most just seem to want to get home.
