Haven't seen the episode in question but I think the judgement's fair enough. Those who are being evicted have not given permission for their lives to be intruded upon by cameras for public consumption. We don't generally know what's led them to be where they are, their state of mind or where such public humiliation could lead. Own goal by Channel Five for me.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

Preying on other peoples low points for entertaining tv is bottom of the barrel stuff, glad they've won the case.

I hate this programme, its nothing more than a poke fun at people who may be in financial disarray

How anyone can watch it and be 'entertained' at some peoples misfortune is sickening

Never watched it, never will

Dredging the pond for the sake of entertainment is horrific.....Channel 5 is a channel I dont think ever gets put on in my house because they showcase this kind of crap

To a lesser extent I think Channel 4 do similar shows as well.
I agree that it would be odd to get some kind of entertainment from such content. However, saying that I think the TV stations just serve what the public want to see - which says a lot about its viewers.

So, out of interest, what are your thoughts on this?

I’m in agreement with all the comments so far. Exploiting struggling people for entertainment is shameful and reading the article I think C5 using the ‘public interest’ defence is a bit sick.

We seem to have a real 'glass houses' society developing, at least here in the UK.

Television is just awful now anyway, can't find much that is at all watchable.

weve gone from making such amazing programmes like Only Fools etc to making 'entertainment' programmes based on peoples misfortune

Says everything about the world we live in these days, point, laugh and humiliate.

If I ever found myself in this position and they brought camera crews they would be told they dont have my authority to film or publish simple as that

The worse one they ever did was called a 'Benefit Special'. Could not believe my eyes.

A whole episode based around evicting people on benefits.
