We completely wasted the chance to close Leeds to 3pts (with us having better GD) and therefore secure ourselves an easier play off than Villa.

Brentford seem to pick up some good players...would be good if Dowling and co. can unearth one or two slightly off the radar players.

"It was always going to be difficult - we've only got two real defenders on the pitch. We're trying to put square pegs in round holes and it really caught us out today."

Guess the manager...

Tony Pulis and that is not even true. They had 3 McNair Shotton and Flint in a 3-5-1-1. The midfield 5 were all central midfielders mainly DM's with 2 Centre Forwards one playing in a sort of 10 role. It looked ugly on paper and it made a Martin O'Neil team look like Barcelona which is some achievement I suppose. The Boro faithful want him gone.

So what this means is that things stay as they are and Steve Gibson's proposal for accounts to be made available to external accountants is rejected. Gibson has put the spotlight on Derby, Sheff Weds and Villa so will be interesting to see if anything happens over the next 12 months following Birmingham's deduction - let's face it Blues got off lightly. It would be better for any points deductions to kick in at the start of the following season, even if that club has changed division.

The three clubs eluded to managed to pass their P&S for the last three years hence why no punishment.

How they fair next year will be of interest as both Wednesday and Villa will need to make significant savings.

I do find this whole stand from Gibson to be quite laughable - he has called this meeting and even failed to attend it !

His whole stance of preaching for fair play is a bit hypocritical whilst he accepts parachute payments.

He is throwing his toys out the pram because he is regretting appointing that dinosaur.

The sooner FFP and parachute payments are binned off the better.

Bolton's record is expunged which is what happens when a team fails to complete it's fixtures. There is an outside chance that this might have a bearing on promotion or relegation outcomes which is grossly unfair on those clubs negatively impacted even if one of them is 'Boro. Given there are only 2 fixtures to be completed and neither Brentford nor Forrest can impact the outcome of the league in any meaningful way, then it would be better to award the points to them and let the rest of the results stand.

It's not hypocritical to accept parachute payments. They are perfectly within the rules and if any chairman turned those down, the fans and any shareholders/backers would want them swiftly removed from office.

Catching up with developments at Bolton. Seriously you wonder what anyone could have done in ten lifetimes to have this visited upon their club.

Bolton have been in perpetual financial crisis almost since they were relegated from the Premier League and their current ownership were woefully underfunded but still managed to charge the club £600k in consultancy fees. The club should have been in administration a long time ago but were propped up by the PFA/EFL while a white knight was found to takeover the club and keep it afloat.

Enter Laurence Bassini former owner of Watford, who is now the new owner pending EFL approval.

 A few facts about Laurence.

He has been declared bankrupt twice. In 2013 was barred by the EFL for 3 years from holding any position with a football club following allegations of financial impropriety from his time in control of Watford .

He promised to pay the players wages for March unsurprisingly he hasn't.

This is the depths to which football will plummet in an effort to keep the show on the road. Bolton Wanderers are dead. The corpse is rotting and needs to be taken away by professional corporate undertakers (aka administrators) and the likes of Bassini need to be kept out of the game at all costs and if that means clubs die well so be it.

This is my point - you cannot have a financial fair play whilst teams in the division receive hand outs for failure

Gibson’s major problem is that his parachute payments are coming to an end and he has failed to take Middlesbrough back up. He’s now throwing his toys out the pram preaching this fair play nonsense despite being awarded up to 40million a season before a ball was kicked

The three clubs he mentions are within the rules at present and should they fail to achieve promotion, will cut their cloth accordingly

If Bolton are kicked out the league then results against them are scrapped.   This means we gain 3pts on our promotion rivals.  Had we beaten Reading we'd have been above Leeds.  Anyhow playing an under strength team v Reading was totally unnecessary in my view.

I would like to see a draw between Leeds and the vile lot. It would do two things. Keep the vile lot below is no matter what happens on the last day. Also it would still be able to over take Leeds on the last day if we win and Leeds lose.

kicking off at Elland Road - Leeds score after Villa stop playing for an injured player, El Ghazi sent off 3 game ban - Bamford not even touched so probably rescinded , then Leeds let Villa score on the restart - manic - ref lost control

Nothing wrong with the Leeds goal, not a head injury so no reason to stop play.

I'd be furious if we just let another team stroll through to score like that.
