It’s way, way, way too slow. Defenders and midfielders passing sideways. We’re not learning at all from or first 4 games.

We need to liven up. If a penalty save isn’t enough to motivate you, nothing is.

Two performances against a stubborn Millwall team - both at home too - and we have looked really, really poor.

It is clear Burke cannot play upfront on his own, especially when playing against a team that sits in deep, when he is required to hold up the ball.

Suddenly, after dominating corners against Forest, we now can't defend one to save our lives. It's not like we're lacking the height in the team either.

Expecting much, much better against Luton on Saturday.

Not sure about this - experience is invaluable but we have plenty of options in deep central midfield areas.

And yet people tell me that he shouldn’t go out on loan!

There is a good player in there, one i’m confident will make the grade at championship level, but there is no point letting them stagnate here. Send him out on loan till January, the same as Leko. Both need a run of games.

I feel like I’ve been saying this on repeat for the last three years.

I think both of them have lost a huge amount of development time by sitting on our bench and playing for the under 23s.

Regardless, would you have been disappointed if Johnson had conceded that goal? He would have had pelters from fans and no defender would have been criticised

Not disputing that the goalkeeping was absolutely dreadful - without a doubt the worst part of the goal.

What I was saying was the overplaying at the back caused the clear chance at goal; something we saw time and time again last season.

No, if you watch again, it was poor goalkeeping.

But the overplaying at the back led to the unnecessary chance - as bad as the goalkeeping was.

Luton messing around with it at the back. Where have we seen that before?  ;D

(The goalkeeper did chuck it in the back of the net though...)

Hooters used to be a good spot pre game...

Hooters is the designated Away pub I'm led to believe...

The signing that we've needed the for the last few years - athleticism, technical and can spot any kind of pass. Really looking forward to watching him play.

Outstanding business for that price. He’s a player I desperately wanted us to go for so hopefully he will come up with the goods - whether that’s as a CB or CDM.

Seems a bit arsey from Van Der Sar. Foster would have been in his early 20's at United, I'd hardly say he's an unprofessional footballer during his career.

True, but he’s known to be a poor trainer and especially in his younger days, didn’t take football seriously.

Seems a nice fit for him - really hope it all works out and will follow their results curiously.

Time to just shut it down. We’re getting absolutely nothing from it and any player with a single ounce of talent is simply being hoovered up. It flat out stinks.

To be honest, a lot of people didn't rate him all season. It's £10 million, most transfers are instalments and this is 10 broken into two payments. Don't understand the problem really. Remember the wages are what kills a lot of clubs.

We signed him for 12 mill two season ago. He’s only 29 and he scored 22 goals this season. Take into account general inflation of transfer fees of the last few years and it only paints a worse picture. As if the Club couldn’t have any worse press at the minute.

Our Club is an absolute shambles - no two ways about it. A laughing stock doesnt do it justice.

So we have effectively got rid of him for 5 mill (+5) and Evans for 3.5 mill in the last two years. Absolutely seething.

There are surely much, much better ways to organise his departure for not going up.

The ever-reliable John Percy reporting that we will hold talks with Bruno Labbadia on Monday, with the other contenders set to be approached later in the week.

Can't see it happening myself and I'm not sure how I feel about it but at least it isn't somebody on the usual managerial merry-go-round.

Although he’s played in a few different positions, I wouldn’t touch him. To say we’re hardly going to spend a penny, 4 million would be an absolute waste for a player who has often been a liability this season. He’s apparently on 50k odd a week at Citeh too!

Much like the Spurs game last season, immensely proud of that atmosphere tonight.

It shows that being a fan of a club is so much more than what’s on the pitch.

we have been filmed... TWICE in two separate seasons.

Very true - the 'Artist In Residence' and 'Behind The Badge' documentaries.

However, in both of those documentaries (and correct me if I'm wrong) but I remember them both being focused on the team, with the Artist In Residence doc more about the actual artist and him encapsulating the emotions of the fans throughout the season. Neither doc focuses on the board and their what happens behind the scenes in the club.

We're an absolute joke of a club at the minute.

I have nothing against Shan and he is doing the best job he can do at the minute (at least he is learning from his mistakes, with the change of shape, playing a more direct style, and finally putting Gayle and J-Rod up top together). I will be supporting him throughout the rest of the season and during the twists and turns in the play offs.

But to leave us in this position, asking a youth coach with a complete lack of experience to get the better of coaches with top level Championship teams in the play offs, is scandalous, outrageous and frankly, an utter embarrassment.

Will somebody tell me what Luke Dowling has done at this club since his arrival other than identify several loan signings from the Premier League that any football with fan with half a brain could have spotted? I still sit here and cannot believe the ineptitude of the board to NOT have a plan. Every football club these days should have a shortlist of 3/4 managers who they like and are ready to go for.

While watching the Netflix documentary 'Sunderland Til I Die' the decision making and general poor management from their top brass was enough to leave me laughing; I'd dread to think if we were filmed what we would see!

I fear this board is not finished with is disgraceful decision making just yet.

« on: March 02, 2019, 03:58:17 PM »

He'd have kept a clean sheet at home to Middlesbrough and that's without me really needing to think about it.

He would have prevented a few of the long range efforts that have beaten Johnstone too. Sheffield Wednesday away springs to mind.

You just never see Johnstone make a save that you wouldn't expect any competent keeper to make. You never say, he had no right to save that. Foster is consistently making saves of this type.

Although I agree with your sentiments regarding Johnstone, the save he made at home to Forest, from Lewis Grabban, won us that particular point.

You'd just like to see it more. However, that's the least of our issues at the moment.

We’ve utterly wasted him this season and he’s still got 16 goals.

Fair play to the Leeds fans - they have really got behind their team tonight. They have kept the atmosphere going. I can imagine us going very quiet at home in similar circumstances.

Disagree. Not saying they haven’t been very good; they have. However, they scored in the first minute on a Friday night game and have flew into a bucket load of challenges (and won them all!). Any crowd would be up for this.

Tactic for the season:man gets ball and runs aimlessly until he’s tackled.

Only difference? No Phillips or Barnes.

No passing exchanges. No intricate play or passing triangles.

What is this!?
