Jesus Chrkst, looks like we going out. With Pakistan favourites to win their last two games, we need to beat New Zealand and India. How did we make such a pigs ear of this?

Woakes bowled a decent spell, could have been fuller though, but Archer and Wood were terrible first up.

The batting continues to leave a lot to be desired. It is all well and good bludgeoning the best part of 400 against Bangladesh and Afghanistan, but that isn't what wins your tournaments.
Winning is a million miles away mate, we need to get their heads together and win the next two to ensure qualification.

Horrible to watch such a talented team bottle it like this. I don't think we've ever had a football team as good as this cricket team yet the result is the same , can't handle pressure.

Yeah, average championship player at best.
Better than Robson Kanu then.

EFL hub reporting West Ham have offered £10m, Byram and Hugil for Rondon.

Very impressed with Hugil against us for Boro last year. Perfect for Bilic' system plus he would know their abilities and character.
That sounds like a very good deal to me.

Bottled it again. What is it with England's national teams?

The compensation needs to be much higher, that way only the truly special kids would be picked off. As it is the big clubs can just take a punt on any smidgen of potential, Dhanda, Sinclair, Brown, because they have nothing to lose.
Personally, I don't see the point of us having an academy, within the current system, as we are just a feeder club for those at the top of the greed leagues. Yet another example of legal corruption within the game.

With those teams interested no way he will stay, best hope may be that we loan him back for the season.

Would love to see him just burst onto the scene and start banging them in

Hope his dad's name Barry, like Neville Neville.

amazing to consider only two years ago some were saying the best squad. i agree this squad is nothing compared to our last promotion season
Wasn't two years ago, Moore got beaten to death with the "he has the best squad in the league" stick last season, at least in certain corners anyway.
Personally, I agree with you and think we have some greatly overrated players and hope that Bilic sees the same.

I think it's safe to say you can go back through about 6 years of posts saying he's awful  ;D
Same here.

Watford in talks over a deal to sign West Brom defender Craig Dawson.
Take the money and mug them off. Poor footballer, surprised if he gets a game for them.

Julian Dicks manages Heybridge Swifts who play in the fifth division of the Isthmian League North. Can't see us matching their transfer budget or compo' demands. Time to move on to the next target before getting our hopes up, and as for landing that twenty plus goal striker of theirs we've got no chance.........
Fair point.
However, Woodard Wanderers, of the "Bob a Job" League, District 9, have just parted company with their half time orange slicer, Joe "Zico" Jones. Rumour has it he's "still got it" even with 85 years on his clock. Could be worth a cheeky bid.

weve had some terrible managers but saying he wouldn't be near the top of the list does not mean hes a good manager does it ?

the resources he had we should have been higher than 4th its as simple as that really and he was very lucky to get the job in the first place.

a poor manager but lovely man and ex player. i hope he makes a career out of management in the lower leagues because i feel that is his limit as a manager.

anybody who plays Dwight Gayle left wing for months really isnt cut out to be a manager at a high level unfortunately.
4th in the Championship doesn't make him chyte either, which was the original quote.
You could also argue that anyone who can manage a team that scores the most goals in all 4 divisions, must have something about them.
We've had better and we've certainly had worse.

Lovely bloke chyte manager
Think that's a bit unfair, he did a decent job, just didn't quite have that extra bit of oomph. If I were to put together a list of chyte managers he would be nowhere near the top.
Hope he gets the chance to continue his managerial career and is a huge success.

Think it's highly unlikely but, if Bilic wants him, and there is a way to make it happen, then it's a no brainer. Certainly no harm in discussing it on here, what else have we got to talk about?

Juilan Dicks will be one of them.
Can we bring him on just to take penalties?
What makes you think this? have they worked together before? Not heard of Dicks since he packed in playing to be honest. Wouldn't think he would suffer fools gladly though, unless he's mellowed as a coach.

This sums the man up for me.  What a thoroughly nice human being.

Happy with Bilic  and we move on but still think WBA FC is a worse place without him. Really hope he gets that 2nd chance and smashes it.

I would love him to stay, think he would stand out a mile in the Championship. Maybe not in terms of goals, can't see him getting 20+, even at that level but, his all round game would terrorise Champ defenders.
Can't see it in a million years though, so just have to get every penny we can for him and invest in a target man with 20+ potential.

Massive uplift for me but then, I've never made a secret of the fact that I'm fickle as feck!

It's been reported that he isn't leaving (yet) hasn't it?

Be a huge blow for Blues if he does leave, he has had them punching above their weight when you look at their squad and situation. I did read that one of the big problems was that he didn't want to sign Gary Gardner on a permanent but the club did it anyway, if that is the case then I really cant see him being there come start of the season.
Does that mean he's got Gary and Craig? :o
Don't blame him for doing a runner, couldn't make one footballer between em.

Very pleased with this , shows a bit of ambition. Bilic is no fool and needs to rebuild his reputation so, if this was a hiding to nothing,  due to lack of funds, I don't think he would have taken it.
Hope he does a Roy (without the bogging off to manage England bit)

Rumours are gary monk has left blues, blues fans are going mad!

I wonder if there may be a late twist......
Yep, saying he's been, or about to be, sacked which just seems absolutely bonkers. Can only think it's a falling out over money.
Too late for him to be in the frame for us though, Bilic seems nailed on, which I'm happy with to be honest. Monk has done a good job, but his football's not great and he just seems unlucky as fudge! He's like Uncle Albert off Only Fools and Horses, every ship he sails on ends up sinking!

Very happy with this, and not just because he is a very good manager, but also because it puts to bed the "cheap option" rhetoric. I was actually starting to buy into it myself that we were on an, asset stripping, downward spiral, whereas this appointment suggests the club still has serious ambitions. I know he is out of work but I can't imagine he was at the cheaper end of the scale compared to others mentioned.
Glad when it is finally confirmed so that I can get some positive vibes back.
