After a Wolverhampton handful of games, when he's a centre half playing out of position? He's been very good, but that's hyperbole.

Let the kid play his game, and don't get carried away. He won't be brilliant every week, and we'll need to keep a more balanced perspective.

I didn't say he was better than Statham, but I struggle to think of a home produced full back since Statham to compare with his ability and potential.

No bashing
It’s factual ,he was in a bad starting position and made it worse,he hasn’t managed to keep a clean sheet this season....he’s not good enough.

Sorry but that is just garbage, he favoured his near post because that is where the threat was, do you want him beaten at his near post? ::)

I have given up responding to the Johnstone knockers, they will always jump on any error, any goal regardless of how it came about.
Ill say this just once more, he is not perfect, but he is a decent keeper at our level and deserves his place in the team.

The best full back we have produced since Derek Statham.

Isn't it great to have a manager who can see what is needed to change a game and make those changes, what a change from past managers/coaches.

Austin getting criticised a fair bit again, but he made the goal, even if it was with a tug on the goalie.

He didn't tug the goalie, their goalie just made a mess of it after getting obsessed with Austin's position.

Strange game, they could have been well in front by 60mins, SB makes changes not many of us would have made, suddenly the game shifts and we finish more likely to win. Think S B us doing wonders with our youngsters

Not really no, if you would have offered me unbeaten in 5 at the start of the season, I would have taken that, I think we are a team that will get stronger through the season (I never thought that last season), some of the new players will adapt, the youngsters will get stronger with game time and we still have players to come in like Hegazi.

I'm sure he always gives 100%, one thing is for sure, continual sniping from the side lines will not improve performance levels.

I would want my manager to fight my corner, he did just that against awful decision making, he may of gotten  sent off but the unity it brings to team and club is worth it, I like his passion, about time we had some.

I think some fans need to remember this is effectively a new team jelling together, players need to get used to each other, that takes time, defensively we are very different to last season, the forwards definitely will improve in time.

The only ban should be for the ref and linesman for being abysmal.

There should have been no penaltys in that game, 2 dives and a phantom hand-ball. Yes, Perriera dived but so did Waghorn.

Exactly the way I saw it as well, should have been nil nil

I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a ban incoming.
I thought the same myself, be a bit of a cheek bearing in mind the awful decision made by the ref all game, every penalty decision was dubious.

Don't blame him at all for having a go back, too many just waiting to slag him off, if the ball ends in the back of the net, straight away you will see a derogatory Johnstone comment, it's too easy and often poorly considered.

Shot from outside box goes in at near post, Johnstone doesn't move. Same old story.

Sorry, but blaming Johnstone for that is way off the mark, no one goes to the man, he strolls forward 10 yards and smashes it in, useless defending.

I think the point is, give players a chance before slating them.

Don't think in any way he was at fault for their goal

Let that one get away, not sure it was a corner that led to their goal, they loaded the back post for their goal and we got caught ball watching.

This team will take time to gel and the bench was threadbare today regarding attacking changes.

I also had reservations last season, I was not confident of DB's ability, it always felt like everything was about keeping the old ways going, the old gravy train to players, the neglected midfield looked dire after the Pulis years and so it proved, going up would have been horrible, an aging team churning out the same dire performances and suffering defeat after defeat.

There is a freshness now which excites me, love some of our own players coming through, like the pace in the squad, I still have reservations about one or two from last season, but the squad should be strong enough to cope, however the season goes, the club has done well to transform in a short period starting with the excellent managerial appointment that has been backed well.

With the pace and ability on the ball we now have in the side, the defence will be under far less pressure, most teams who play us will be pretty wary of us I think.

Good signing, only 30, very good finisher

I don't have a problem with commitment to buy if promoted deals when you consider how important it is we go up

Should have saved Forests goal, but it took a slight deflection so on balance, he has some mitigation, I think his distribution is very good, so he that goes in his favour, regarding contacts, its possible, his short range shot stopping is normally pretty good.

Here's an idea, how about we give all the players, including Livermore a chance to get used to new systems before we judge anyone, Livermore is an England international who generally played okay for England when played, I'm not his biggest fan, but to judge anyone at the moment is just unfair, overall, I was surprised how well we defended.

What a great start to the season. Never really looked in trouble until the inevitable late bombardment. Sawyers excellent as were the 2 young lads. No real negatives in my book just the feeling that things can get still better if we make the signings Slaven clearly wants.

My feelings as well, things will only improve as the midfield get used to each other and we get another forward, defensively a little suspect at times, Johnstone should not have been beaten at the near post.
