Think Tyrone Mings made the difference, sorted out their defence, changed their season, we should have signed him.

Club that spends huge sums of money wins FA cup, is this sport, really.

He wasn't messing about,  he was a specialist throw in taker playing in a central position. Dreadful to book him.

He was time wasting, he had already been warned, it was stupid, it changed the game, its a game of football, get and play it, time wasting that early in the tie was ridiculous.

Time wasting is only arguably justifiable with a few minutes to go, otherwise, its cheating.

The games against Villa were his best of the season, he has been appalling all season, maybe he is a better than he has shown so far.

Hughton is a yes from me, underestimated what a great job he did at Brighton.

The tie turned when Gayle messed about with a throw in at Villa park and got booked, up to that point we were in control, that time wasting wound up the crowd and the Vile got motivation, Gayle got a second yellow and got sent off, everything swung in that moment and it was unnecessary.

The wheels started to come loose when Peace replaced Ashworth with Richard Garlick who, being a lawyer,  knew about contracts but, as it transpired, the square root of FA about football skill.

Very true, the failure to adequately replace Dan Ashworth was the start of the rot, the failure to progress and ultimately in relegation.

The next appointment is vital or we will stagnate for a decade or longer.

No urgency again, lethargic again, crying out for a Barry in the middle of that pitch again. Defensively woeful again, no creativity again, same old same old.

Had a couple of chances which we woefully wasted and thats it, got ripped apart by Derby again.

Not as though we rested players either. Not sure these players respect this coaching staff or this club as none of them bust a gut for us, none of them give the impression they would run through brick walls for us, sooner the end of the season comes and we get the clearout needed the better but problem is yet again it won't be this Summer as we'll do the usual new contracts and turn away interest by overpricing players who have not performed consistently throughout their contracts with us.

Murphy missing the sitter summed his Albion career up, Robson-Kanu's petulance summed his Albion career up and Bartley getting beaten by Waghorn for the first summed his Albion career up.

Penalty was an absolute joke, the bloke slipped, no contact at all.

Only bright spark was the goal from Johansen, hope we do try and sign him in the Summer but no doubt someone will offer £10 more as we won't go above £500 a week.

Beat the villa and all will be forgiven but just cannot see it at all but unlike this gutless bunch i'll be back next season.

I am sure Bartley just caught his toe, contact was minimal but he was off balance.

We do , not convinced Shan does .
4 or 5 at the back ? . All over the shop mate.

This in spades, the most disjointed Albion side in two decades.

Kyle Bartley is the worst signing in my 50 years of supporting the Albion, I genuinely can not stand him, he is an absolute liability what Moore saw in him to sign him or Shan sees in him I can not comprehend.

Whilst he is in the side, I will no longer watch this team, he is absolute garbage.

Liverpool played well but missed chances at crucial moments, should've made it 1-1 and given themselves a great chance. be interesting at Anfield where over the years we've see what they are capable of.

The Tie is all but over.

Not sure why people blame Johnstone the 2 goals were peaches.  Goal 1 was blasted into the net and our achilles heel was laid bare i. e. Lack of midfield closing down and tackling. The guy ran 50 yards unchallenged. Why oh why we have this sloppy attitude just determined to make life hard for ourselves!

Because he is an easy target?

I agree with you about sloppy lazy defending.

Albion Matchday Forum / Re: After Match Debate
« on: April 19, 2019, 05:46:43 PM »
Johnstone could have done better on both but the first was a wicked shot moving all over the place, the bigger fault was the appalling defending allowing so much time and space, similarly the second, Kyle Bartley is a far bigger liability than Johnstone, he is just awful.

Overall very unconvincing performance.

We are a bits and pieces team, not good enough for promotion IMHO.

We used to be a big club. Now thanks to the like of Peace we are the smallest club in the W Mids apart from Walsall.
We act small, have small stadium and ambitions, and our fans mostly happy clappers who are grateful that we sit at the top table every few decades.

Very of the moment view, in the greater scheme of things, Villa have always been the biggest club, us, Wolves and Blues all vie for second spot depending on where we are in the cycle, Walsall will always be the small local neighbour.

Usually due to hot work or like with the cutty Sark refurbishment, a lamp left on, plus often during refurbishment, fire detection may be partially disabled.

I wouldn't be upset with a new owner but I'd just like to point out a small fact about Albion.
We are only 7 games away from a place back in the Premiership.  I have given up caring who manages us as at this late stage I'm not sure they'd have any impact on the team anyway.
We're stuck with what we have and need to make the most of it. Lets just get behind the team, Shan and the tea lady and help them get over the line in 7 games.

Absolutely correct, we probably only need to win two more games to return to the top flight

Its all about getting ready for the playoffs now, finding a system which makes us competitive, didn't watch the game so can not comment, but who ever is in charge, these games need to be used to hone a system and get confidence.

The penalty given was inside.
Tackle outside but the foul inside.

It’s all we can do. As the games tick down the pressure mounts on the two in pole position, we have to hope to sneak in the back door...so as to speak.

I have never snuck in the back door....so to speak. ;D :-X
