There was a dividend of £27m paid by West Bromwich Albion Football Club Limited to its parent, West Bromwich Albion Group Limited, during the year ended 30th June 2016. However, the cash from that dividend remained in West Bromwich Albion Group Limited as at 30th June 2017, and so had not been paid out as at that date.   If there is any dividend to be paid out of West Bromwich Albion Group Limited, then any such dividend distribution would also need to be paid pro-rata to the 12.2% minority shareholders because there is only class of share in existence.

Up to 30 June 2017 nothing had been taken out by Peace or by Lai’s company, and I’m not aware of anything paid out since that date. The forthcoming audited accounts for the year ended 30th June 2018 for West Bromwich Albion Football Club Limited, West Bromwich Albion Group Limited and West Bromwich Holdings Limited will confirm what has happened since, but it seems to confirm that the £27m dividend was merely moving funds around within the group, and was not part of any distribution to the owners (either Peace or Lai or indeed the 12.2% minority shareholders).

It therefore begs the question of what has since happened to all the cash which was sitting on the balance sheets as at 30th June 2017.  I will post separately about that.

As at 30th June 2017 there was cash of £39.5m in the Group’s bank accounts.  On the assumption that no dividends have since been paid out (we don’t know unto the June 2018 accounts are published, but if a dividend has been paid out then the 12.2% shareholders would have received part of any such dividend but I’m not aware that they have received anything.

It seems likely that this £39.5m of cash has all been spent on wages and transfers since June 2017 on the basis that no further dividends are believed to have been declared or paid since.

I asked you the other day what year it was and you didn’t reply.  What year was it paid please?

If the link about Tyrone Mings is true it may indicate that that is the case. Graeme Jones has stated previously that the switch to a four was temporary and I think three at the back is always at the back of his mind. If we do revert to a three we must surely play it differently to the way we played it at the start of the season. It's not just the over emphasis on playing out from the back but positionally also. We played with Barnes behind a top two then but we were always light in midfield. Now with Holgate coming into the side it gives us attacking width down the right hand side to match Gibbs on the left, we're no longer reliant on Phillips to provide it on the right.

The midfield is better now and there's no need to change it. Instead of 3-4-1-2 we continue with the midfield the way it is now in a 3-5-2. The 3-5-2 on paper looks stronger than 3-4-1-2 did.

Good post and I can see your logic. Holgate has been a huge signing for us I think in terms of balancing the side. In him and Gibbs we have excellent wing backs, allowing us to keep Phillips in midfield.

That selection will do for me & if we are going to go 3 at the back ( which i be leave is favered by our manager & his assistant ) i can think of no better team to use it against has lighting will not strike twice

Please God let this no mark make his mark in Scotland so as another idiot can buy him and free us from this millstone.

Lepkowski hasn't worked for WBA for some time now.

Thanks, I didn't know that.

Strange that he left around the same time as Lai's takeover.

Think Potter is quietly doing a decent job - playing a young team through necessity. They haven't had the quality of loan signings that we've had to bolster the squad.
Sheff Utd have a bad record against the top teams and the fact they are up there must mean they beating nearly all the rest.
