Personally I think we have two realistic options;

1/ play Krovinovic deeper, move Pereira to the 10, and play Grosicki / Phillips

or

2/ Chris Brunt, straight swap

Barry has, unfortunately, shot it, so Brunt is the only realistic man-for-man change. I think we have to move players about tbh.

We created loads of chances Robinson missed a header and a shot in the second half. Kanu missed a 1 on 1, in the same half. The first goal was coming way before we scored and we probably should have come away with a couple more goals. The best performance in a while. This teams seems to be finally gelling, which coincides with the new players we recruited in January. Phillips probably realising he can no longer put in mediocre performances and get picked anymore.

Yes we did mate , Ajei looked like wilder against fury at defensive midfield, he should never grace that position again

I agree. He looked like a centre half playing in midfield

Looks like Prestons top scorer and attacking midfielder Daniel Johnson will miss the game on Tuesday.

Looked a good player in the reverse fixture. I remember him nearly scoring from a tight angled-shot which made Johnstone do an excellent save, tipping it round the post. Come to think of it - it was probably the best save I've ever seen Johnstone do - so he will be a big miss for them.

Any chance of this game now being called off due to the stadium damage?

The damaged roof is from a nearby factory building rather than the Hawthorns itself. Imagine they will assess and secure by tomorrow's game.

Can't agree. Nothing we were doing caused Bristol City to be so frivolous with possession. All 3 goals came from Bristol City errors and we have hardly created a clear cut chance. Numerous long range shots are making the stats look good though.

We're overpowering teams who for one reason or another are seriously underpar. Can't argue with the results but these aren't wonderful performances.

Luton are very poor irrespective, Forest got their tactics wrong by parking the bus (and still walked away with a point) while Millwall just didn't turn up.
Interesting the way some people see games yes Luton were poor but given the conditions against Millwall, Forest and Bristol I personally think we played well we battered Forest and  their keeper played well against Bristol we forced them into 2 mistakes by putting pressure on them we also missed 2 really good chances second half we seem to have gone a bit more direct since Robinson  joined.

Brunt is an awful idea.  No pace, no mobility, won't get forward, easily ran past, won't tackle.

Have to say I agree, however I assumed this was why he was being touted as an ideal replacement for Sawyers.

I'd like to see what Krovinovic could do in a more defensive role and I don't think it would be too disruptive to play Pereira in the middle and Grosicki wide.

If we are to only make one change then for me it's Harper in for Sawyers.

That's not true for a start.  1st goal Livermore wins the ball back brilliantly and gives it to HRK to feed in Robinson, who should have scored regardless of the header.  That goal was created by our closing down.

The second is good play from Krov who made the tackle then a decent effort from Livermore.  Keeper should have held it but we were in that position down to how we were playing and on the front foot.

Third was HRK causing the defender to panic because he was closing down.

I'm not even going into the other efforts we could easily have scored from, such as Periera's volley which was flying in until it hit someone in the face, or the other clear chances we created.

A reoccuring comment from the Bristol fans was how impressed they were with how quickly and how high up the pitch we closed them down.    If that's not causing them to be so frivolous in possession I don't know what is.

Or...

Midfielder caught in possession, keeper saves shot straight at him but can only parry it straight back to striker for open goal.

Midfielder caught in possession, speculative 25 yarder spilled by keeper, striker taps into empty net.

Usually reliable centre back makes mess of simple headed back pass leaving keeper miles out of position, strikerbends into empty side of goal.

If you think the Pereira volley was a clear cut chance as opposed to wonderful skill I dont know where to start.
