Grab hold of your nearest wood/wood imitation object and hope it doesn't happen to us this season, but losing a player to a long term injury is always a big possibility. Losing anyone would be bad of course, but which player would be the worst to lose?
To me Olsson would be worst loss at the moment. Not including Ibanez, he's our only centre back at the moment who I have real confidence in. Last season we saw how much of a loss he was when he was out injured. He's the linchpin of the back four and is easily one of the most important members of our squad.
Foster would be a big loss, but with Fulop's experience I think he'd be an adequate stand-in. Mulumbu would be sorely missed but with Reid, Jara, Dorrans, Scharner, Gera, young Thorne and hopefully Hargreaves we have good options in the centre of the park to fill Mulumbu's place, in general I think we're well covered across the midfield. Unlike last season we have several good options up front so losing one of Long or Odemwingie wouldn't be disastrous (unless it's both of them).
